Hi RPSers!

I'm moving to South America for 9 months or so. them. I'll mostly want a laptop for music and films but it'd be great if I could play a few games, especially if I could meet up once or twice with my greatest love, DOTA 2, while I'm out there and perhaps play a few other simple 3D games. I will be travelling around a fair amount and I'm concerned about it getting lost/broken/stolen and I won't have much use for it after coming back so I want the cheapest possible laptop that will reliably run DOTA 2 on the lowest settings. I know it's scraping the barrel and may perhaps need a refurbished laptop but if this could be achieved for under 300 then that would be ideal. If adding an extra 50 would make a huge difference then I could do that.

DOTA 2's minimum specs are supposedly:

Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with 128 MB, Shader model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better

Any help would be super-appreciated!

Thanks mashakos. I'm searching, do you think I would be able to find one for under 300? Does anyone have any links to any?

I wouldn't bet on it. You might get close to 300 though. Here's (http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_E1_Windows_8_Core_i3_Laptop_-_Black-Silver_NX.M09EK.001/version.asp) an Acer Aspire for 328.

If you're going to travel with that cheapo laptop, can I suggest 2 things

1 - a GOOD QUALITY laptop bag which keeps out dust/dirt/rain and doesn't LOOK like a laptop bag (for mugging purposes)
2 - a GOOD QUALITY international travel adaptor to sort-out dodgy current (some of the cheaper ones will just go bang)

You'll thank me later...

@hexagonalbolts:

I'd also suggest a decent Wired-USB mouse if you're going to be duking it out on Dota 2. And let me also suggest you a wired USB house, as the inbuilt laptop can't handle (or won't last) the constant abuse by a Dota player.

Hope this helps :D

I don't want to create new thread so i will type it here.

I need cheapest laptop to play DOTA 2 on high settings with steady 60 fps. Everything on except AA, vsync may be on/off.
I would be grateful if somebody could suggest some laptops cuz i know nothing about laptops.
