Hello, gentlemen. This 'ere is a declaration of interest- pending my scraping together £40, of course.
Honestly I'd hope for a bit more than £40 for a kidney. £150 for the collector's edition, at least.
I'd want at least a testicle for £150.
SA goons' EU contingent will be on Vabbi also which works out very nicely; looking forward to some chilled guild leaders and chilled officers on both fronts.
Seems like the old beta client can be used to get the updated beta although I obviously can't confirm that this is the case.
I'll just leave the link here for those who think they might not manage to download ~13 GB within 3 days and want to give it a shot just in case.

If you're behind a good connection, I'd wait for a link from ArenaNet just to be certain. It should probably come any moment anyway... I hope.
"We've started sending out emails with instructions for where/how to download the Beta client. Thanks for your patience; happy patching!" via Twitter.
The e-mails are going out in waves so if you haven't got one, you should get it soon.
I too will play this particular game at this particular weekend.
Just recently got an invite for the beta for prepurchasing and I'm seeing various groups online already picking servers. Is there a list for the names? I tried googling but every source tells me they would become "available soon" so I it must of come from a newsletter or something.
Also, what servers is everyone that's not joining the RPS guild picking? Trying to gauge which ones will receive more or less activity.
Here's a list of the "worlds":
Europe
Kodonur
Gandara
Kodash
Blacktide
Istan
Vabbi
Kourna
Fissure of Woe
Underworld
Ring of Fire
Far Shiverpeaks
Petrified Forest
Jade Sea
Desolation
Magus Falls
Whiteside Ridge
Fort Ranik
Ruins of Surmia
Sharp’s Corner
Aurora Glade
Riverside
Elona Reach
Augury Rock
Abaddon’s Mouth
US
Anvil Rock
Borlis Pass
Yak’s Bend
Henge of Denravi
Maguuma
Sorrow’s Furnace

From what I gather, the RPS guild is going to be located on Europe's "Vabbi"?
Here's a direct download link to the GW2 beta client at guildwars2.com, and here's a "quick reference card" to the mouse and keyboard controls (just in case somebody finds it useful).
It's Ctrl+T in GW2, evidently. I was trying to find /say but looks like it's been replaced by /l or /local... fair enough.
ArenaNet have put up a blog post about "guesting", which is the term they've coined for visiting servers other than your own.
It's a good read that clarifies a whole bunch:
- It looks like the server name list won't be changing for launch.
- No matter where you are, you can choose either the NA or EU cluster as your home.
- Full-on home server transfers cost 1800 gems and can only be performed once a week.
- In this beta weekend we'll all be given 2000 gems for free!
- Most importantly, guesting is NOT available in this first weekend.
That last point means we need to plan ahead!
Yay game, boo polish half of the family coming round this weekend :E wonder how much time I'll manage to wrangle.
Got my invite today will download when I get home, does anyone know how big the client is? I would quite like to put it on my SSD if I can find the space.
It's approx 13GB, I finished downloading mine last night.
Who is actually creating the guild by the way? Might it be worthwhile sharing our GW User IDs so people can be found easily (that's what I'm seeing other communities doing at any rate)?
Okay then. Mine's Malawi Frontier Guard.1238
I downloaded the client yesterday. The login screen looks very nice.
Vabbi is where 4chan are making their home btw. May be wise to choose another? :p
mine is sendmark.4731
Here's mine: MOKKA.2053
I'm actually looking forward to play in a Guild which has more then four regular members.
