Can we put in a vote for a random alignment? I'm not too fussed, myself.
I'd leave the dragon and whatever other highly dangerous events might be available in, too fwiw.
I have a workaround for the pitboss problem, but it still doesn't allow random selection by alignment. We can pick civs, go full random, or use dropbox instead. Thoughts?
Go full random then, and hopefully we will get a fun match-up.

Leave them in if you want, I will start hoping that he doesn't apear next to me :P. Besides, with complete random there is a good possibility the game will go rather unbalanced anyway due to the mixing of allignments, so a little extra doesn't really matter.

Server should now be running. I've been told pitboss autosaves whenever someone connects, but I'll also make regular manual saves in case my net drops or something.

Should work, tell me if it doesn't. You can password your civ, and add an email address (alt+d in-game) for new turn notifications (if I did the SMTP stuff right I dunno). I turned Acheron off seeing as the vote was split and it really does fuck whoever it hits. Orthus is manageable.
Just realised that impossibly I dont actually have civ4 installed atm, so off to resolve that.
hmmm, I picked a civ but after that it goes black and the game crashes. At a retry I see that the civ I picked is now password protected, so it might just be due to the picking phase.

I forgot to tell which civ I played... Are we revealing it right away, not at all or after picking civs?
I have no problem with revealing it, but I also don't want to ruin it for others who wat to keep it hidden for now.
I don't really care, but I guessed someone might, that's why I didn't say it either.
The black screen is normal, until all the slots are filled. Hopefully the crash was a one-off.
So, I logged in, selected a Civ, and took a turn. Will be interesting to see how this works. :)
Shame about the dragon, but I understand why people are scared of him. Perhaps if this goes well, we can have a second game with more players and leave the dragon in to make things "interesting" ... :)

There's a little asterisk by your name in pitboss, so it looks like your turn went in. Dominicus/Gorzan, have you reconnected since to try taking your turn? I've never done this before, its possible it waits for a minimum player count before letting people move.
I tried connecting just now, it timed out. Might it be that it died?
