Crusader Kings II
One of the best games I've ever played, when it's good. You do need, however, to except that all campaigns will have lulls, or that you'll they'll peak. It's worth knowing where...
I feel like it's the Emperor's new clothes with this ME3 fuss.
The ending is awful you say?
But...but...but they've taken out most of the bloody dialogue choices, thus ripping out it's soul,...

Indeed, but a word like that was a careful choice, it's little to do "with the removal of the "subjectivity" of the non-aggression principle" .
It's the same was that "realist" politics is trying...

Never will you find a greater hive of scum and yada yada yada

I would assume by objectivism he means one of the many brands of Philosophical objectivism that tends to posit the existence of certain things in the world. As apposed to say, Idealism.

The very idea of "politics" as a distinct thing lies in our feeling of disempowerment and our desire to regress, to just have some one else do all the grown up stuff. Politics becomes a sphere...

A cold game about the utter annihilation of the world, in which victory is measured in the millions, billions slaughtered.
And you can not detect an anti-nuclear sentiment?
To speak is to act,...

Nope. You can lose traits, but it's usually either totally random or part of a randomly spawned choice event. "Just" kings can run around murdering babies and imprisoning people because they have a...

The mod has the clarity to remove the "honest" modifier from people using assassins and the "just" trait from those who behave as tyrants.
WHY HAS THIS NEVER OCCURED TO PARADOX?!?!

I'm not sure I can go back to Vanilla CK after playing the Game of Thrones mod.
Let me be clear. I've never seen or read any of it. I could not give a shite about it.
But the mod is awesome, it...
Since HL2, Ep2, I've had two children, one of which is off to school soon.
I NO LONGER CARE VALVE

Yes, which also include criticizing things like video games as you see fit.
(And really abusing italics, apparently.)
I've actually yet to own EU4, mainly because I felt it too similar to EU3, but in that sense, perhaps try Japan instead. The development team created Divine Wind for EU3 and it seems that all the far...

One day, as children sit in classes and learn of the horrors of ages past, what the internet did to the human soul will be one of them.
Trade is less of an issue in EU3, where I've no memories of "trade nodes" and you can create your own centre of trade.
I suppose, if you wanted to tie this thread up, yes Europa Universallis is...
I imagine having China not start with a serious lead really should be taken in terms of game balance, rather than any orientalist agenda. Same with the mandate of heaven. China, in game terms, is not...
I'm not entirely with you.
Are you implying China's tech should advance in parallel with Europe's without input and effort from the player?
The state of China's advances in 1444 is a little...
This thread depresses the hell out of me.
It reads not so different from a list of complaints about the first Rome.
I'm not entirely sure what that proves. We are substantially different from our Anglo-Saxon precursors, not in the least in how we raise our armies.
Not that I entirely disagree, but the "Roman"...
There's still nothing quite like Homeworld out there.
The gaming industry refuses innovation over and over, yet no other industry makes me so desperate for companies to just bloody plagiarize the...
Agreed, but I'm with Tom Holland(go read, he good) when it comes to that "Byzantine" word. Calling the armies that marched against the Shanshah's of the Persians anything other than "Roman" just...
Unlike a lot of this thread, I played EU3 a lot.
How does it really differ? I played the demo and nothing seemed earth shattering. Ideas and trade, sure, but war, supply and attrition appear...
The Tea Party called, they want their narrow minded bogey-man conception of Liberalism back.
Also, John Stuart Mill is here. He looks quite angry, to be honest.
Do not ask...
