From what I've read BF3 is a lot more resource intensive than most games, and that's why servers cost so much. That and the fact that you can't roll your own server.

Just applied to the US platoon. Hopefully Dice'll make platoons more useful soon. Although then we'd still have the problem of only having eight members. Wouldn't be Dice without their buggy releases...
