Is the GTX570 under 3 years old? Just got a new (refurbish) 660GTXti as a warranty replacement for the 570 that died.

I said that, then a 660GTX fell at my feet. Though I'm still only using it for my existing library. Phew.

That quote was not me. I'm refraining from posting in this forum now. As I've already had one mistaken accusation thrown my way, I'm not keen having another, please fix your quote tags.

Kadayi, the phrase was "Are you angry that". I gave no indication that I was suggesting the fact or fiction of the reason for the poster to be angry. I was being polite in not calling them out on...

Then, we cannot call Gabe hypocritical if we cannot define what he said.
Other than that, we have an OS for a game store. As it's Linux, I have little worry in dual booting with that. I'd be happy...

I never said they did. I'm asking if that's why tradaa is so angry. Though translating their posts is difficult, I'm rather concerned they don't understand ours.

Ironthingy... Ironhand is the one I use. Tis brilliant on the eyes and rather informative too.

Ah, I missed that. However, the story resulted from the technical limitations. If they, say, ran out of memory before making the head to Lady Liberty, the story would have followed that plot instead....

gwathdring. Steam opened the door. MS shut it. You called Steam out for being hypocritical for making a room.
That's where I'm lost. The calling "MS open", when you mean "largely distributed,...

You know the OWNERS choose the sale and sale price? Think for a moment. You've just admitted you don't know the stats. Now think, what game did you buy? Can you contact the seller and ask if they are...

Ahhhhhh.... Yes. No. That's not how the industry uses "open" as in transparent. An "open" business is a transparent one. An "open" OS is one with no barrier to API use, developers, adaptation/mods...

Not really sure I can grasp your views there. As said. Your not using openness as it's described. If your worried that Valve might use it's market control, as MS does, then yes that's a valid...

The profit increases when the price drops. It's an almost zero distribution cost item. Thus, if you lower your original price, incrementally, you will saturate the market. Games and other media are...

Yeah, this conversation would be totally different if this was an EA machine or another MS machine. As in, we would know what the outcome would be. Would EA allow users to mod the OS, the box, the...

Look again at the results. Please. I mentioned Tom Frances and others. THEY MAKE MORE MONEY WHEN THEY SELL AT A LOWER PRICE. Sorry for the all caps. I cannot make it clearer how that is not a problem...

I will have to say, "gamification" is now a thing, but mainly through facebook likes and advertising tie ins to twitter reposts.
That and the stock market. Never look directly at the stock market...

Yeah, the inbuilt stores in Linux can be uninstalled (by definition of being Linux), they cannot in Windows, so the comparison is somewhat negated.
It's fine to say that it won't happen from our...

And the HD version of [X] is an extra £10 on the store.
Ohhh, Love me some old DOS/Windows games in HD for free. :)
Tritagonist, mobile CD players (and car DVD players) have disk drives that...

There is no competitor. But that was not the point. You seem to be arguing for arguments sake there. The comment was that Steam cannot just change on the day Windows/MS makes a decision, they have to...

I looked at what was on offer on the MS Metro store. While they may suggest compatibility/virus free. That is all they cover. Quality and shams/phishing expeditions are not prevented. There were at...

We both admitted we have neither Steams or MS figures for this. How would Steam know this? But at the same time they can see from the outside what customers are doing?
I'd most probably agree...

As said. It's directionality plus their current market. If AppleOS is not their market, or Apple OS is stable, there is little to care or comment on. If Windows OS is going in a closed direction (for...

It may* effect sales. That's a possibility, one Steam/Valve strongly hint at. I've no reason not to believe them considering it's suicidal to suggest otherwise if Windows 8 doing the opposite and...

Just that MS have the power to turn off the desktop now. It's a low risk. But it's a "string" or "threat" MS can wave at developers, or more likely, competing Stores. Steam either takes the...

PSN and Xbox gold. Dell don't run the webcam. Although I agree, Twitch is the main culprit. It's not that Sony/MS are naturally more responsible, but that they make effort to be.
You get to decide...
