Viper is best combat ship. It's not as nimble as the eagle but I packs a hell of a punch for a mid sized ship, is fast and is still much more nimble than say the cobra.
Get an interdictor, look...

Likes of parkas, adidas sambas, pastel polos, 501s etc.. you still see about. Not much has changed really fashion or music wise here in the UK for like 25 years. But then not really had any new...

If you bought a tv, then the police turned up at your house and took it off you because it was stolen, you wouldn't blame the tv manufacturer you would blame whoever sold you it.

X files is at it best with single episode stories or stories that take place over a few episodes. When they fall back on the over arcing alien conspiracy stuff it gets dull fast.

Dubsteb is just jungle with wubwub bits, so that counts as early 90s too.
Literary stuff - complicity, the crow road, stonemouth, espedair street
Sci-fi stuff - use of weapons, player of games, surface detail, feersum endjin
Is best stuff imo, is his books that blur...

im working on defender with a twist, sort of upside down defender
with the size of the game world, its no big deal if there are "evil pvp gankers" about, they are so easily avoided, just make a couple of jumps and you will never see them again

Well it seemed slow. Because you do the same things over and over, Chase icons on the map, fight mobs that are clones of mobs from earlier in the game, fire the same sequence of optimal key strokes...

You don't really need maths maths in gamemaker, it has inbuilt functions for working out all those vectors, scalers and angles for you. You will need to divide by frame rate for speeds but really...

They can't, they live in cells where all the walls are giant tvs. That or they'd end up on the fatty gameshow
I liked it anyway a chilling prospect of the future if Simon fucking cowell gets his...

its basically wow with jumping about bits, worse dungeons, cash shop instead of subs and pvp borrowed (and broken) from daoc or borrowed (and broken) from GW1. Its also very slow and repetative. I...

You don't need to use trig or vectors or anything.
I've roughly got it working. What you need to do is use the key press and key release events of the object to use the motion_add function

Well you've got to use your judgement on how long people have played. 1 or 2 hours for a 4x Is barely scratching the surface, for a shump it might be enough.

If you want to straffe relative to your target/mouse, take the direction code for W and add / subtract 90 degrees. This is simple and you might like it. However as you straffe the angle towards the...

I find a glance through the user reviews on steam more useful than most proffesional reviews and certainly more useful than meta-critic. Probably because people have to own the game first and you...

A game can be visceral without being gory or horrific
It can mean a relentless adrenaline rush.
When I think visceral, I think doom, serious Sam, nuclear throne, R-type, street fighter, risk...

I'm wondering if we should have a sub-forum for this stuff "help with our amateur game making" or something. I know there's a game making projects forum, but that seems more for promotion of...

Yeah, for me the programming isn't the hard bit its the assets. What I need is a stroke of genius concept for a puzzle game, something like hexcells or spacechem.

pixelprospector.com has a nice list of tools for indie development, as well as examples of games built using them. Should help you pick the tools you want from genre specific engines like twine &...
well the dolphin is a cobra sized version of the orca. So I'm expecting simmilar cargo, better engines, worse guns in comparison with cobra. (beluga is a bigger orca)
Fer de lance in going off the...

I'm not to keen on this idea of turning movies into tv shows, the way movies are plotted, you kind of loose some of the magic moving to a slower format. Although there's nothing wrong with a slower...
The cobra is supposed to be the jack of all trades in its class.
Now they have the viper which is around same size and price but is combat specialist
When they release the dolphin, that...

It's what I used to do years ago in the 16 bit era, all this 2d talk, modern tools and great recent 2d games like hotline Miami, spelunky, nuclear throne etc.. are tempting me to get back on the...
