In my (extensive) experience in TF2, I found that I've dealt as many random crits as I've received.
Getting killed by a random crit sucks, and I long since learned to just take a deep breath...
I must thank you folks for an enjoyable afternoon/evening.
It was somewhat of a baptism of fire for me, my first time playing with RPS in over two years. Shame about the population imbalance, but...

Hello folks, just checking in for an outfit invite and a bit of a re-introduction.
It must be two years since I last played Planetside 2. (Put it this way, the last time I played PS2 there weren't...
Ahoy, looking for some fellow hunters for hot monster action on Shear. This seems like the place to look.
Kwis and best_jeppe I already know from a past life, in a galaxy far far away. (hi guys!)...
*Cough* Hello. No, I am not dead, just hibernating. Greetings to all.
Haven't played NS2 in a looong time, I'm probably rusty as hell. If people want to meetup for an NS2 reunion I'd be up for it....

The DLC is a kind of a prequel story, but the quality is as good as the main game. It's a little on the short side, but it's fairly cheap to buy. (Even cheaper if it goes on sale on steam).

Playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow which I quite like. These sorts of games are my 'comfort gaming'; just kicking back with a pad, switching my brain off whilst thrashing the shit out of some...
Christmas damage is thus:
Shadow Warrior €7.32
Gone Home €3.66
Risk of Rain €4.88
Rogue Legacy €3.66
I liked the Tomb Raider reboot. I thought RPS were harsh not even including it on their christmas leftovers list.
Having not played the Uncharted games, it felt very different to me, but still...

Risk of Rain reminds me a lot of Binding of Isaac, except y'know, with a lot less shit and blood. Also, it's a 2D side-on shooter as opposed to top down, but the general idea of collecting a myriad...

The Swapper is one of my favourite games of the year. It's got a fantastic atmosphere and some real head scratching puzzles. The story is quite thought-provoking too.
It's a 2D puzzle platformer...

I loved Outlast too. I've seen people dismiss it for being just 'jump scares', but that's not why I liked it. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere created by the nightvision on the camera.

Hells yes. It's awesome.
Of the two, I thought Brigmore was slightly better, but they're both brilliant. I enjoyed them just as much as the main game, which I don't often say about DLC.
Also, buying Shadow Warrior off the Humble Store lets you activate it on Steam anyway.
I did it! I conquered Hell, on today's daily challenge; on the day RPS names Spelunky in their calendar. Serendipity!
Oh god, my voice sounds awful.
Why is it that whenever your voice is recorded it sounds weird?

I'm replaying Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but via the Director's Cut edition. I haven't touched the game since its release (2 years! Where did the time go?) and I appear to have forgotten everything...
I still haven't made it to the City of Gold yet, but I've got really close. (See above). I'm having a lot of trouble with shopkeepers at the minute, I keep dying stupidly to them....

Very hard to narrow it down to five, I have lots of honourable mentions.
Natural Selection 2
Not a 2013 game, but it is the game I've played most in 2013, beating the nearest other...
One thing I forgot to add: Don't be discouraged by dying, (I've died myself about 400 times in the game). Often in Spelunky, death is a learning experience - it just means you'll be saying : "Well I...
It's a hard game, but it's absolutely possible to get better at it, in fact that's one of the reasons I like it so much. It rewards you for getting better.
The best tip I can give for Spelunky is:...

Hey me too! Well, I'm playing Minerva's Den anyway. Rapture remains one of the most memorable locations in gaming.
Also, I'm becoming ever so slightly addicted to Spelunky HD.
I think what I...
One thing I've learned playing NS2 is never to piss off Kwis when he's a Fade, unless you like being eviscerated.
I too, shall return on Sunday.

Not sure which Assassin's Creed you're talking about, but in AC4 you can most definitely interrupt animations to defend yourself by pressing the counter button in time.
Speaking of Assassin's...
