The grinding is a big downer. But that's true for pretty much every F2P game. I just wonder how they want to keep the game fun for new players over the coming months, if everybody else has a high-end...
Has anyone of you tried the open beta of Hawken? I did and I found it to be not the fun I expected it to be. However, I'm unsure whether I should put more time into it, as I really love the visual...
Three pages about cyberpunk games and not a single mention of Neocron?
I'd like to introduce our listing of real F2P games. The site has just gone live 2 days ago and we're 100% focused on MMO/MO games that are either totally free or do not offer any game balance...
The list is now online at http://www.realf2p.org.
Thanks to all for your thoughts and help...
I've posted an updated list and a longer post on this thread yesterday... but it said that it is "under moderation"... and now it seems to be gone? WTF?
eheh... same here... :D
To make it sound AS IF it was free, while hiding that in fact, it's not. They could've come up with fry to try or free to see..., but NO!!
Anyway, going back to topic... "Real F2P" is both: free...

I guess he's pointing at:
I think that Neocron will also be real F2P. But it's tough to find more titles than the ones already listed. That's why I originally started this thread. ;)
However, I want to keep the list pure...
Okay, let me rephrase that: Nobody starts playing a game under the premise that he's going to suck at playing it.
F2P is not only a "term", but may (and IS) also be used as an adverb:
A) This is a F2P game.
B) This game is free to play.
A lot of games were free (to play) long before the term F2P was...
To lean and/or to prone makes sense in slow to mid paced single-player games IMO. In fast paced multi-player FPS games I find that feature pretty useless.
That is true. And I'm a big fan of not overcomplicating things.
But... (there's always a "but") it actually depends on the context, if it's sufficiently accurate and descriptive. Imagine the...
@LTK: I agree to everything you say, but I think that there should be more "official" (sub-)categories for F2P games. That's the whole idea behind the "real F2P" list. It's like saying "Hey, these...
What's the exact difference between a free and a free-to-play title for you? Or better, why are games like Quake Live and Savage II not F2P to you? Actually Quake Live is listed as a F2P reference...
I'm talking about "Free to Play" of course. Anyway, who cares if a real F2P game is a spin-off of an ex-retail title or if it is a new IP? If you take Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, it's actually...
Looks interesting, but since it isn't out yet, I don't want to put it on the list. I'll keep an eye on it. However, in their FAQ they mention "Our website will allow the purchase of many in-game...
Yea, that would probably be a better fitting title.
Heard that game being mentioned a couple of times, but never got to check it out. But if it's totally free and "multiplayer", then it would have...
Yea, I was expecting a discussion about the term "MMO". But since it is loosely used for whatever game that is played over the internet by more than 2 people nowadays, I decided to stick to it.
I...
I'm in the process of compiling a public list with real F2P MMO games and I was wondering if someone had an idea what else games I could add to the list.
I separate F2P games in 3 categories:

NS2 looks awesome, but I'm not going to get it as it appears to be too complex for just a few casual gaming hours after work. The whole RTS element (Commander) is too hardcore for me. Maybe great for...
Seriously? Wow... that's like ignoring 20 years of PC gaming. It's either a bold or a very, very stupid move.
Well, in part it is... as Steam claims to only accept games that reach a certain...
