The fan patches fix a tremendous amount of stuff, and with alternative AI and balancing options, even the combat (to an acceptable degree ofc). Risen was indeed small but was so close to my all time...
Gemini Rue, of course.
Although a top 10 from the past seven years is really hard considering the multitude of great titles, I'll try my best before recalling the other great games that should *definitely* be on my list,...

How on earth would it always be a compromise? You still go back to the binary outcome of...
Believe it or not, I remember actually reading some of those.
Yeah but what if you want them to continue making ports, albeit good ones that you can support, but also show them that no, not enough about the current one? Because an arguably better third solution...
Like in Chaos Theory. Mouse wheel changes movement speed while walking, it can encompass the whole analogue range. Too lazy for that? Have the movement speed default at the middle value and 2 keys...
The flight controls were a pain in the ass yes. But the toy plane missions were optional, and let's not forget, you could fly planes! The game was the most fun of the modern bunch, with incredible...
That's funny since San Andreas, the best GTA to date, came after vice city.
You want to see hard? Try installing 50 conflicting mods for oblivion... without the game crashing.
You can just skip.
