Skyborn is good for what it is, a very short rpgmaker cyberpunk episodic game. If that's your jam, I would get it.
I want depth hunter to be endless ocean and it is not. My wife when she loaded...

I think touchiness about microtransactions makes sense. One of the few beneficial things a kickstarter backer gets is a sense of ownership in a game. Nothing says you don't own a game like...

This year was fucking amazing. I got a job, got married, health insurance, our combined income is 5x what it once was, etc. A bank slip up just reminded us we were spending too much.
Nox was just a really, really fun game. It didn't have any replay value once you had beaten it with all three classes, and even then there was a lot of reused content.
1. Looks like it might be from Nox.
[Edit] the conjurer's stun from Nox.

A serious bank error + series of diseases meant that we didn't have money for me to pledge for about four months and so I didn't want to go window shopping. Hell, I paid for Torment by selling...

Ain't that the truth. As a teenager I rolled my eyes at console kids calling themselves real gamers. As my juvenile disdain for artificial tribalism based on consumption died, it became amusing...

Weekly update or somesuch. This is a great week for variety, a lot of the games look like they'll appeal to fans of the genre if not me, which I appreciate. Kickstarter+Digital Distribution = An...

Sticky: New Games: Aerannis ...
Aerannis - My pick of the week. A side-scrolling stealth game about a cyberpunk assassin. Looks like fun on a bun.
Ember - Find out why light has gone. This is like the third game...

I just came to post about late to the party. It is considerably more ambitious than Unrest's $3k goal, but only about $6k more than what they actually made. That's pretty doable considering the...
New Vegas hands down. The improvements to melee combat, the much better writing and atmosphere, the coherent world, and the lack of a metro all make it the clear winner in my book. New Vegas could...

Sunless Sea has amazing writing, but it's really, really, really grindy when I tried it. And I really liked SRR, but it was mediocre compared Dragonfall which blew it out of the water. I wouldn't...

As a sidenote, I'm pretty sure kickstarter's internal search engine is sucking right nwow. I've completely missed a couple games until a week or two in, and one or two games I missed entirely, and I...

how is dead state anyways? CRPGs always look like turds until they're nearly done, but I havent seen anything on it in a long while.

Huh. I don't think he makes his case very well that Kickstarter is dying. It could be, I haven't backed a game in months, but it doesn't have anything to do with Kickstarter. The only solid proof...
Aaaaaah! a reckless disregard for gravity.
Neoscavenger? That has a distant destination pretty soon.

I just really, really, really hate Hawke as the main character. Also, the city never changes, despite your actions. Really, the narrative in general continues no matter what you do. And the battle...
I always thought the Prince of Persia thing was a really clever reference to the originals (though I did play it when I was teenager).

I am very interested in that. Paranoia always sounded really fun.

Kickstarter had a very impressive list of games that have been funded through kickstarter but are now available to play on their front page. Also, I guess kickstarter opened in...

Black the Fall, the alienation 'em up game is almost halfway there.
Elegy for a Dead world, the I don't know how to describe the genre but it involves stories, is about...

Weekend Update - New Games
My mouse is still unreliable, and there are so many new games I'm doing two separate posts. All in all, this is a great week.
After Image is a 2.5d noir cyberpunk...

The flame in the flood in particular looks really good, but I never got into the whole eat/sleep tedium of survival games. That's actually about when I stopped playing minecraft.

This week had several good new games. Mouse deleted post again, grr.
Fair warning, the impressive Outpost 13 is running a new campaign the day after their old one ended for...
