There are designs that work in 1.4. According to my roommate, his 1.3 sand generator only required a minor change to work in 1.4.

I'm Wedge, from the America, and I like to games. Been a console gamer since the NES, PC gamer since I bought the original Command & Conquer circa 1997. Good times.
So I just got into the beta and I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. Would love to get in on this with some of you peoples :)
