A couple of late-late iRacing questions if I may
1 - why isn't the rookie oval series based on the Legends car - it's not much slower but MUCH easier to drive - we might be able to actually get a...

WIth a mountain-side drop where cars will FLY!
Is it Willow Springs (which is real??) which is like drunken snake on the side of the Matterhorn? A fast lap there is like parking at Tesco - I...

p.s. also, some of their custom tracks are just fucking odd - they never have a rhythm, often have weirdo supertight corners on the side of mountains or oddball cambers - it's like they gave a...

I tried that but - ironically - it acts as a bit of an 'understeer alarm' - filling-in for the lack of FF by giving you a heads-up that you're at full-lock and yes, you are sliding ;0

Dipping back into Shift2 I am reminded why I've had no interest in Project Cars and will need a LOT of convincing otherwise.
Shift and Shift2 have so many issues - you need to spend so much time...

I think I've cracked the 'deadzone' thing on iRacing - not with software but with something I read about how this stuff is meant to work.
The deadzone thing DOES work - just not quite as you might...

The 30 day trial of 2012 sold me on it but I have too many driving games. I'd probably have bought it instead of AC but you lot tipped me into AC :)
I mentioned this earlier but there's also a...

@Prolar - have you tried the packed/unmodded version - the assets are compressed for more than just saving disk space as they are loaded dynamically in some cases I think?
I remember that Shift1...

Shift games were heavily reliant on Physx which - of course - works so much better on nVidia...
My last PC was AMD and Shift2 never ran that well - this one is Intel/nVidia and it just runs...

Many apps which run ads will stop working if there's no Network for long periods of time (as turning-off the network is an easy way to turning-off ads)
So you have to get your tablet connected to...
Oh yes, of course, don't justify their anger with more anger - won't work.
A bit of mild sarcasm (and I mean mild - more wit than barb) doesn't go amiss sometimes - as does "just being nice" (it's...

Hey all - let's feel superior for a moment

I think you've got something in that as gamers, our "ritualized behaviour" is to win, to gain levels, to unlock things - and that people come to iRacing (esp during a free trial) and expect to do...

Also - possibly supporting the idea that SR averages more than just your last race, I did a Laguna/MX-5 race and...
Started midfield - someone causes world-war-3 in corner 1 and I think I'm clear...

I believe Rocksmith uses fewer strings at the lower difficulties but as you say, it doesn't care which strings you play (it has NO IDEA) - it only cares that the notes are correct (it also cannot...

The Formula Abarth's (or any open-wheeler's) braking is on a different level to anything else you've driven - and in this case it's WAY easy to lock-up too so dainty feet are required ;0

Xpadder is great for macros (F6-Select-down-select-down-select-F3 disables tyres changes for example) but it doesn't interfere with normal XInput function. It's deadzone is just for making the...

Yup - check the hotlap thread in the Community SubForum here - but don't beat my time UNLESS you have a wheel kk? :)

I'm assuming people use pads but there's a surprising lack of comment - one question on the Pinnacle forums has an unhelpful cut-and-paste answer which is hard to follow/doesn't seem to work -...

Yeah - they all use the same basic idea of putting a DLL in the program directory which overrides XINPUT and fiddles with values.
Problem is - iRacing launches 'magically' from a browser and...

Hmm - his rating before the TT - assuming you believe the video continuity - was 2.89 so a +.04 wouldn't have done that??
If that did happen tho - the +.07 I got was a good result I guess??
21-08-2014, 04:30 PM
Just as an example - he shows a 30 min clean TT with a result of +.44SR which is lovely
I just did a full 30 min TT at USA INT (lots of corners - 67 laps so 268 of the fuckers) with not a whiff of...

1 - yes - the guy making the video is a droning bore who could have made his points in about 2 mins - not 31 mins - Youtubegrrrr
2 - I know how to save replays but I'm not sure what a replay of...

Are you sure that's not +.13 (they don't do thousandths) and +.13 is a GREAT result (it's basically a 'perfect' in rookie) - you only need 4 of those to get a 3.0
Ovals are like your experience...

I think SR is actually broken - I don't think it's just a stupid idea (which it clearly is) - I don't think it even "works as intended".
I was suggested some steering setting changes earlier today...
