twitch beat pokemon blue in about 100 hours on /trakof averaging around 300-1000 viewers
calling it now
most interesting game of 2014
there are tons of games where devs just delete any negative threads so that potential customers don't see them
and this isn't just some shady indie dev thing. Big corporations like Microsoft do it
i played maybe 2 levels years ago
it was fun
I think it has a real chance at being the best single-player FPS, just based on how good Doom still is today
as long as the framerates/controls are...
unless the game is "e-sport" or "skill-based" or "hardcore" which firefall's PVP tried to be
once you have any of those properties, players tend to 'go back to <insert h4rdc0r3 game here>' instead...
DRM hasn't been about copy-protection for a while
nowadays it's about delivering content via services that require authentication (eg. internet requirements not just for activation, but because a...
i don't know why they axed PVP
it was certainly much better than their MMO content
it was somewhere between Quake and Tribes
they even had brightskins in the game menu... that automatically puts...
good games and genres keep dying
nothing except moba and pay-to-win card games have a player base
notable single player releases include nothing but multiplatform console games
year of the...

wonder who bought ron
reckoning with the difficulty mod was basically a much better version of oblivion/skyrim
but without the mod, the game is extremely boring
i guess they're asking a lot...

the only thing valve has done so far is market the hot new games and things at huge discounts. both of those are bad for gaming
anything that moves us away from that is good

people care more about games than the hardware
give it time
and there's a plenty of interest already despite the launch games being horrible
consoles aren't going anywhere. the games are...
can only pray that the fools involved with aoe2 remake stay away...
but it's Microsoft so :(
it's still a pretty low-quality mod, but that doesn't mean it won't make money
it includes a different mod which isn't bad (user patch) and custom AIs
forgotten is just a collection of custom...

the architecture is what matters more than the gigaflops
ps4 , xbo, pc all being similar should be good for the PC ports
side effect might be that PC developers end up porting to console...

advancing slowly is playing it optimally (i.e. strategically)
this pretends to be fixed with meld, but I doubt it'll be valuable enough to actually be required
I thought it was the hard reset engine, which was excellent especially in 3D
don't know why it doesn't perform as well in shadow warrior. maybe wait for drivers/patches
I guess the good news is that Rise of Nations can be bought separately from Amalur
Amalur isn't bad, but I presume some RPG developer would just bury Rise of Nations if it was bundled with it
it's not for everyone...
reviewers tend to like more casual gameplay and storyline/atmosphere stuff instead of actual first person shooting / combat
it's kind of why half life is worshipped
it's not that there's no audience
it's that the audience is way too hardcore and has too high standards
there's just no way to convince current players to stop playing quake and try something...
very amazing if it works beyond the "ideal" situations
tip: take buses to teleport
i was really interested in this game

don't buy it?
I bought several AAA PC games that did the whole limited activation thing. Sure it might be tough to replay these 5 years from now, but the unrestricted version will be on Steam or...
it replaces prime real estate with a view of your character's backside
the fov is a number, but in terms of how far you can see / what you can see it's a step backwards from 1st person
really neat game
2 problems though, none of which are uncommon in the card game world:
1) it takes too much grinding to unlock cards (no option to pay for them)
2) the game doesn't seem to...
