If the world isnt changing daily, based in part on player actions or lack thereof, then an MMO is pointless. Dynamic content and a shifting, changing world are in my mind necessary components of an...
Just started playing this game. Kind of a nice counterpoint to some of the faster paced real time combat games I have grabbed. And I have to say, it is really excellent so far.
Need to retrieve a...
Had not thought about it that way. That's a pretty powerful argument. And a convincing one. Very good points.

Thanks for the suggestions. Gives me something to think about. Much appreciated.
@theForged: That is a pretty good assessment. I've been trying to curb the frustration with games in general just a...
I wish we lived in a world where I could say this isnt true. But it is. More and more I think I like the locked based on ownership (or lack thereof) idea.

Finding myself at odds with gaming again lately. A goodly number of my games - Abyss: Odyssey, Dark Souls 2, Unepic, Wolfenstein, etc - require a goodly amount of finger dexterity. Which I find I...
Sometimes I wish for a game with a world like Skyrim. Vast, open and begging to be explored. No Fast Travel. Just occasional camp sites and bonfires at which a person can rest and save. Oh...and in...

On further consideration this DLC is...I cannot recommend it. Sure the level building is better than a lot of the main game. Atmospheric, too. At least on a macro scale. In terms of level design...
Fair points. I think what bothered me about it was the way in which it affects folks who have played the game by other means. But then too, they have other places to leave their opinions of the game....
I tried the Beta for TESO and I wont ever play it. That said, there are people on Steam asking for opinions on the game. And though I only played in the Beta, gripes I had about the game are things...

If you are short on Titanite, you can use a Bonfire Ascetic at the first bonfire in Harvest Valley. Very few enemies, and easil y run through. But where you got one titanite before, you now get 3....

Played a bit. Kind of tired after a long day so I am reserving judgement until later. I can say, though...its hard. It feels like sprinting through the game and arriving at Drangleic Castle at Soul...

One other note on this: The Dark Souls 2 invasions are indeed forced. And no, you cannot avoid them. Also...they become so numerous after a while that the whole affair ceases to be cool or special...

I agree with the OP. I think the real, hidden purpose behind this move to multiplayer everything is that is it indeed a convenient excuse for always online requirements. My girl and I had this...

I have a feeling that Star Citizen will be possibly the biggest letdown in the history of gaming. So many people pinning their hopes on this thing being the greatest space game ever. And it has so...

Currently playing the new Wolfenstein. Which I bought for $30 for...some reason. Or other. I dont know why. And I honestly cannot recommend it. Not because its bad per se; its not. Its just...not...

In my humble opinion games that need to deliver on their promises (and that I personally am looking forward to) are:
-Pillars of Eternity
-Shadow of Mordor*

My apologies if anyone here thought I was targeting them with comments I made. Seriously, I'm not trying to do so.
On the other hand...I am genuinely curious as to why some people think its "fair...

Dont claim offensive miracles were nerfed for PVP. We both know they affect PVP about as often as a player who has never seen one before gets hit with their first one. I have fought in more than 3...

The argument in favor of this knee-jerk reaction nerfing of Paladins kills me. It really does.
Imagine if, four to five months after the release of, say, Skyrim or Far Cry 3, the devs had come...

Wow...I suddenly feel like I got completely shafted for choosing to play a Paladin type build. I mean, straight warrior is now strictly superior to Paladin in almost every single way.
I went from...

Might be worthy of its own thread, but has anyone seen the 1.08 patch for Dark Souls 2 (aka, the "Screw the Paladins" patch):

Good point and about Firefall and goodwill. Believe me when I say I understand completely. I do.
On the other hand its free to play the game. And honestly, since someone had the good sense to...

Currently playing Firefall once more.
As of 7/15/14, the game received its 1.0 release. It will be available to the general public 7/29/14.
I went back full of doubts and hesitation. Pretty...

Sounds very cool. And like my cup of tea. I need to do some work on emulators, it seems. And I am thinking a break from gaming between now and October-geddon might not be a bad idea, either.
