How do you start with the Heat heist? This is totally bonkers!

We already had the Heat mission though in GTA 4.

TF2 forums is full of people admiring skill. Guys like Stabby get lots of love because he posts videos of his finer moments and narrates them.
I think you find what you're looking for. Most people...

Which points us right back at the core issue of trying to play an RPG on a computer. Namely that its not really a role playing game. Its a turn based die rolling combat game based on a pen and paper...

Thats not a dissonance, thats simply understanding the nature of the conceit. The hero shrugs off bullets because he's lucky or good enough to not get hit in the dome even if he takes a few slugs now...

And so if thats the case then its all a bunch of nothing. That we assume its possible though says everything.

Firstly I'd say the spasm of deleting or otherwise the appearance of trying to diminish the link between the author and the company by the editor is the most worrisome element in the story. It says...

The opening lines are empty meaningless words. Its boiler plate. Its the first sign that someone with a communications degree was on hand to help craft the message.
I'm not interested.

I read the first two lines of that, gagged, and shut it.

Yea you go changing the UI on an old guy and he'll send a stiff boiler plate letter to the publisher about his distaste for this hippy garbage on the front page.
I'm surprised nobody has managed to mod Bear Cavalry into a game yet. That should be some DLC for CoH2 methinks.

People are still doing this wrong by using a single potentially legitimate story and immediately jumping onto the general complaint discussion.
If PC Gamer is legitimately deleting this guy's...

I agree with this strongly. I remember reading, perhaps here on RPS even, a video games writer talking about how hard it is to write for a game when they have basically no input on the actual content...

A good game will ensure that you can't lose because you screwed up 2 hours ago. If the game however only asks you min max yourself to be able to go smash mouth at all the bad guys and come out the...

The impulse buying that comes from the depressed price of games is not a boon for consumers.
Its awesome if you buy into the conceit as offered by Schafer for why they did it in the first place. Any awkwardness is shunted to the side as a result (for me at least).

What if people simply accepted the fact that that sand castle was never really yours and that it could would should eventually get trampled? For god's sake Game of Thrones has made a culture of...
This is the kind of thread I've been dreaming of being able to link to when talking to people who get cranky about how expensive some games are.

I remember how cool it was mid way through Half Life to wake up with none of your gear. After all that time of accumulating weapons you're suddenly naked but for a crow bar.
If players get...

Gamers are definitely cheapskates now. Given the relative size of most development teams in the wargaming world and given the smaller market it makes sense for them to charge more than your average...
I recently used the community resources to bring my glorious original boxed copy back to life just to see what it was like. You either get locked 640x480 graphics or you stretch them. Nevertheless it...

Which is part of the problem I guess. Games are so formulaic that you can hardly break the pattern. Bioware doesn't even try. Every time its the 'you're the only one who can stop the ultimate evil...

I really don't want to be one of those smarmy buggers who tries to quash someone's negativity but you sound like you're trying your best to dislike something for no apparent reason.

I've been hearing about Close Combat fans being disgruntled with the lack of decent progress in this series' releases. Of course there will be those who are content for 'more of the same'. However I...

What about skill progression based on proficiency and success and not necessarily killing? I had an idea of proficiency decay based on how often you used something, how often it was successful and...
