What utter nonsense.
It's not, in the slightest, hard to understand the object of DOTA, nor how to play it. It does have a slightly higher difficulty curve than something like Demigods, though. You can't expect to...
Stop with your straw man rethoric, and I might consider replying to you.
I haven't read the entire thread, because after a certain point (pretty early on) it degenerated into mindless yelling without any arguments.
In any case, here's what I think:
First of all, I...
... and, to add to this, I have half a mind to speculate that a lot of the problems people have had with SSDs are related to the fact that most of the early ones didn't like being turned off...
It doesn't need the Razer drivers. In fact, as far as I know, Razer doesn't install any actual drivers, they use the Windows ones. All that is installed is bloat software.
In any case, everything...
This isn't really a discussion. Some sensors are better than others. Some sensors outputs the incorrect data, some outputs the correct.
By the way, I said don't buy Logitech in general. The G400...
I'll just stop you right there.
Don't get the G9x, it uses the Avago 9500 sensor, and I'm hearing it's not a particularly good implementation of it (not to mention the 9500 is a bit rubbish to...
That's basically why people have been complaining about Win8. MS is trying to strong-arm developers into using WinRT, because it's not simply a case of developing for the old API or WinRT, you have...
Soldant, you need to read this again, and understand that both Newell and most other people in this thread knows a lot more about this than you do.
I think what he's getting at is that DirectX isn't just D3D. You can't replace DirectX with OpenGL, because that's two completely different things.
They already did that with WinRT in Win8.
Did anyone suggest Settlers 2 yet?
If not, I'm totally suggesting it.

He never said it was any kind of ceremonial gifting process, though.
Getting a few new games on "the computer" doesn't count as a gift.
I would like to echo Transport Tycoon, Machinarium, Botanicula and Minecraft; but also say that in my experience, anyone who isn't the most accomplished gamer loves Breakout clones and pinball.
...
How do you cope with the extra mouse lag?
I've tried running it in 3D, without glasses, just to get an idea of the performance, and it was laggy as all hell.
I'm strongly considering buying 3D...
1. Skyrim is essentially on Gamebryo (it's just an improved version that Bethesda renamed the Creation Engine).
2. Oblivion was horrendous. Morrowind was stellar.
3. Skyrim was stellar.
4....
Starcraft 2.
No, really. Check out a player called "Cress". He plays SC2 with a XBOX360 controller.
Thanks a lot!
I switched to DD5 and turned off scaling. It now looks gorgeous.
It seems to work just fine on Win7 Ultimate (64).
Do you not default to these settings because of compatibility...
I would probably recommend playing Botanicula, Machinarium and Full Throttle (in that order), first. That would probably make the most sense, seeing that he/she hasn't been playing adventure games...
I've played it for a few minutes last night, and my (very) first impressions are these:
- I absolutely hate the variable resolution (low resolution backgrounds, high resolution characters). It...
Nah.
I will never install Origin.
Which ones would that be? Any relevant arcade perfect fighters?
Another vote for PS3 for me. It's really a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. You even get a pretty good BD player.
What do we think?
I played the alpha, and I have my impressions of that, but I'm going to give the beta a go before I pass my judgement.
Did everyone from the alpha get in?
I'm completely aware of John doing what he can in his personal time, the thing is, this really is something that should be out there, in the public space.
I understand fully why they wouldn't want...
