I agree with this, for the most part.
Unfortunately, I especially agree with the Resolve: Fading part. Fortunately, I still have the Witcher 3 to finish.

Good points. Especially regarding choice and consequence gaming. I like that turn of phrase, and am certainly not about to attempt to derail things into the "what is an RPG" train of thought again....

Apologies. Intended as a figure of speech but yeah, that whole "we need" could easily be seen as the self righteoous "I represent all fans of what this game REALLY is bullshit" so...
Do you hate rats? And I mean really fucking hate rats? Do you hate rats so much that killing bipedal rats with the same two sword swings for 40 or more hours will actually, on its own, carry a game...
If they put (admittedly cool) cars into a Ubi game, would you absolutely love it? Would it complete change the way you feel about having to climb up another goddamned tower and unlock another small...

I am under no illusions about my ability to change mainstream gaming. Or cinema.
But I do choose NOT to partake of a goodly bit of it. Including Fallout 4. Which is a shame, really, because I...

Which is fine to say. I don't disagree with the fundamental truth of your argument.
On the other hand, this sort of stale, formulaic, complacent design will persist until such time as gamers, as...
There exists a definite shortage of space adventure games. Plenty of space sim games, sure. Trade, smuggle, pirate or bounty hunt. Mine a bit. Lots of games where you have a job - or a series of jobs...
Tried a strategy that is very similar to Epic's. Instead of just dropping into a Ring and mining the first good asteroid within reach, I dropped in, and then boosted several times. Sort of...buried...
I am admittedly in an Uncontrolled system (Njikan) in a Pristine belt. BUT I am well away from the Extraction Zones. And getting Stalked. Everywhere I go, the same pirate shows. Probably scanning my...
And thus ends my mining career in Elite, barely begun.
Turns out, its near impossible to mine anywhere even reasonably profitable, and NOT be constantly harassed by NPC pirates. A little risk is...
Mark of the Ninja and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger are two of my favorite games of all time, and both feature near to zero fluff.
The time is almost here: I am looking to upgrade to Windows 10. The good news: From what I can tell, my "Big 3" games - Elite, ETS2 and Witcher 3 - all run fine on Windows 10. As will my Thrustmaster...

Absolutely nailed it.
Worst offender: The new Splinter Cell. Underlying unlock system totally killed the atmosphere.
In fact, Ubisoft are probably the worst offender here. Other than Witcher...
Good points. I often forget about the map features, thanks for reminding me.
Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it.
Wonder why we don't have station finder, belt type finder, etc systems in game? Seems like a service our ship computers would provide.
I really shouldn't have gone with a dex build the first time through. If I could get the game running smooth I would try it again with a shield and probably enjoy latter areas more.
One more: Dear...
Dear Bethesda: Please hire someone to design an actual combat and magic system. And remember, the magic system has to actually make sense. Why do people bother building wooden walls around entire...
Just spent 2.5hrs mining. Test run. Only made about 200k in Credits, but then, this was a rush job just to see if I would like it.
Four small mining lasers, an E-grade Refinery (size 3) and Size...
There's this one developer...Ubi-something or other....
Doh! He already mentioned those.
Ok, never mind. Sorry bout that.
Warframe lets you leap onto and bounce-climb any wall anywhere....
Icon text scaling it was.
I scaled my icons and text back to Medium for now. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world.
Hopefully, they fix or accommodate this soon, as I am certain I am not...
Edit: Got the game launched. Barely.
the new launcher apparently wont scale to a standard 1920x1080p resolution and show me the Play button the bottom left of the launcher. Just a tiny sliver...

Very valid points. Games need a hook. Loot/progression systems fill that role. And they are popular mechanics among gamers.
I don't think this needs to stop, necessarily, so much as evolve.

I am playing the Steam version, yes.

Case in point (stop me if you heard this one before):
I knew I was done with Skyrim after the last Civil War battle, for Whiterun. I had a city mod installed, and was using a...
