Party-based RPGs are not so common that you can ignore one, but there's no particular reason to expect that it'll have any of the qualities that make Baldur's Gate 2 the official best game ever made.

I understand what you mean, but I don't really think it's fair to lay the blame on the site for that. The site is a nice fun diversion if taken with the "correct" attitude, and it'd be sad if, when...

bundlestars has a superior Shadow of Mordor deal.

I got Invisible Inc. (it's very good) and a bunch of "light" £3 games (Runers, Hoard, Lux Deluxe, BattleLore, Hero of Kendrickstone). I also got the Shadows of Mordor bundle from Bundlestars, mainly...

What's the general opinion about Massive Chalice?

The best I can do is to say that the game is sufficiently good that, after playing it, you'll probably want the DLC, so you probably want the Complete edition, and that is a mere 50% off.

I'll reply tomorrow if I get time in the other thread, a bit busy atm.
Edit: It has to be said that I didn't find 2011 a particularly inspiring year for games. But, I do really like Terraria.

Was my favourite game of 2011, so I can't help you here.

Bring yourself to start a series half way through.
Shadowrun is a good choice to rid yourself of this gaming affliction, because as far as I know there's no particular link between the two...

The only bad thing I have to say about SanctuaryRPG is that white-on-black is DEATH TO MY EYES so I can only play the game for about 10 minutes at a time.

It's playable, but not really Thief series material. I think they could have made a good Thief game, they did enough that made me feel that they understood what they should be doing, but got...

I quite like the Witcher Adventure Game's mechanics thematically: it likes to throw lots of horrible stuff at you, so you really feel like you're slogging through a shit world, but it also allows you...

Your first mission of the sale: Ziggurat.

Yeah, I'd say that in this context we will probably get a good idea of whether a game is "little-known" not by whether the people on this forum have heard of it or not, but rather how many people...

I've never heard of Snatcher.

If we're talking Roguelikes, a good lesser-known one is the (sadly abandoned now I think) D&D based Incursion. I think being based on a rule system I knew well made this much easier to pick up than...

From before the Age of Steam, I remember a couple of good bad games that I really like.
Evil Islands is a party-based RTwP stealthy RPG with rudimentary crafting system (before it was cool) and...
I guess if you want to do your best to assume good faith, you can probably manage one or two justifications for "short games should never cost money". They require some extremely strong "principles"...

I also have a "anything that vaguely interests me goes in" wishlist. I'm "safe" from most of the things below position 20, they're just there to remind me that I saw them one day and I thought I...

That's a lot of games, very few of which I own! Since my tastes are impeccable, it's fair to say you shouldn't buy anything I don't own.
Risen is no better than tolerable. Not worth it.

I wouldn't worry too much. Finishing games is overrated and the desire to do so is mostly because of culture rather than because it's actually good for your entertainment.
I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment, but I'm wary of the idea of "multiplying up" playtime and cost like that. Very short games are rather constrained by their shortness. Either their...
This is only really true if the discussion is just being had "for the fun of it". If, such as in this thread, there is the feeling that this is a topic about which something should be done, then it...
I don't think that your personal opinion about which rules-abiding users ought to post rules-abiding posts in which threads should be included under a "mod note".
