Why not both?
It has deathmatch and team games (and better maps, some have zones for each gametype).
Personally I prefer 1v1.

The essential options to look for: Resolution, AA/AF, V-Sync (on), FOV Auto, Fog (Range vertex) and FPS Limiter (60-120 should slow the animations down a little.)
