I prefer Pixeljunk Eden, but Waking Mars is quite good.

No, but there is the Archie driving game made by an Indian dev company. It looks about as much fun.

I'll stay away from weapons, because that's a whole different topic.
I always like the bottles of painkillers in Max Payne. Definitely fit the aesthetic.
Monkey Island 2 has the tattoo map. I...

Is there any word on how Fig is going to interact with the SEC?

+Genre Diversity & Indies: A lot of people are pumping out a lot of good games across multiple platforms.
+Discovery: Humble Bundle and Steam still show me a lot of neat games I hadn't...

I have two responses.
The first: It might be nice to play another IE game, but Beamdog should make its own damn setting. Pillars did a really nice job making a setting. Torment sounds like it's...

I would definitely recommend Creeper World 3. It plays like a very limited rts or a tower defense game with unprecedented freedom. Basically, it's an RTS that rewards turtling, and that's what I...

Guacamelee has really fun platforming. The bosses are very, very inconsistent though. You're not really sure what's a good tactic with them. It's one of the 10 or 15 games I have all the...

There is a game where you play as customer support. I can't find it and its bothering me. I remember that one of your calls is from a tree.
 Maybe this is it?...

I went back to FTL today because I never did try out the new content. It seems like they / he made the game much harder. Now there's four different ways to attack your enemy (missiles, lasers,...

Nothing nearly that elaborate, but Adult swim did a version of farmville for pot farmers called Hemp Tycoon. My wife played it and then asked me why her computer was doing weird things. She sped up...

I'm hesitant about the small total goal. Plus they say that only 9% of the project will go to fees, and don't budget anything for physical rewards (hint for perspective campaign starters: it's about...

Minesweeper, and I loved it. Chips challenge was soon after.
Super Hexagon, Hotline Miami, and AAAAAaaaaaHH for Awesome are my favored short burst games. Although they're perhaps shorter burst than you described.

There have not always been this many products in this kind of market. Go back five years and you'd be hard-pressed to name three decent new rpgs. Now it easy to name ten or fifteen. Go back ten...

I'm have a hard time figuring out what my feelings are. Basically I feel like there's a swarm of decent games on steam, and its overwhelming the ability of RPS and other blogs to pick out the best. ...

Just watching Eitr made me feel like we're living in an embarrassment of riches right now. The art is beautiful, the gameplay looks addictive, and I have no plans to buy it. I'm sure the market...
I loved Morpheus in the original UT. The bar scene in JKII. The map with the first rat people in Thief. Also the one where you have to go across the whole town in Thief II. Gothic I, II, & III...

That is a really, really dumb video. XO looks like something I might back though. And Tower 57 is just plain impressive.
Supposedly Spore had teams of workers combing their universe, looking for dicks.
You could make a horrifying penis monster with the editor.

Whoever's selling the F-19 game in the retro bundle seems to have copied and pasted the original description on the bundles page and steam. I don't know if I would call the graphics "dazzling" now.

Oh, no one has mentioned Spiderweb / Jeff Vogel:
Exile / Avernum and Geneforge are required reading for RPG fans. They've done ten solidly amazing games, and three-ish mediocre ones.

Sticky: Wow, Desura ...
Wow, Desura seems like a mess right now.

It looks way more impressive than a $200k game should.
Also, on gameplay from the kickstarter:
The Lost Pisces is a new path to gameplay. At a top level the game will play like a third person...

Serpent in the Staglands is out! Truly a wonderful year for kickstarted RPGs. This is the base game. For backers, many expansions are coming.
