I don't care about the characters being recognizable, good games make recognizable characters. And I play both Dota and Lol occasionally so I don't care about xXxHardcorexXx anything but my game is...

Classroom aquatic pushed over the edge. Hooray for a stealth dolphin adventure!
I also thought Axe Princess looked really, really stupid.

You get a decker/rigger in the first mission, and I've found less matrix parts, so that's not a problem. I think you might be able to get an optional rigger in a side mission (haven't tried it yet)....

Haven't been playing mods yet. I was waiting for the expansion, which put a bunch of features in (including something like a persistent map).
The expansion is quite fun though. They did a...

Loving Shadowrun Returns Dragonfall. It does have just enough smoke and mirrors to give you the illusion of choice. Having a prewritten team is a plus too, even if the medic kinda sucks.

Kickstarter has a new posting that they've just made $1 billion total, half of which was made last year. So much for Kickstarter fatigue. Speaking of which, there are a bunch of great new games...
Can someone please clean up the last page of the Kickstarter Katchup thread? Chrome is freaking out because it thinks some emoticons have malware attached. Sorry if this is the wrong place, thanks.

Sticky: New Games Dominance...
Dominance: A 4x version of civilization.
Shining Empire: An impressively large RPG/city builder / farming simulator. Sort of like jrpg minecraft.
Shrug: A beautiful watercolor 2D...

Harebraned Schemes just sent out keys for Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall. Once this is out, I'll keep a closer watch on the mod scene.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is about to break 1m GBP. That's pretty impressive. It has 22 hours left.

If you read the codex you might have seen Zaharia, a new isometric RPG set in the desert.

That's absolutely true for me. I would guess that by its very nature, crowd-funding is far more efficient at projecting and meeting people's needs than a publishing system can be.

Sticky: Labyrinth ...
Labyrinth - Grimrock without the monsters.

We've all seen the Tali's sweat post on Bioware's forums, and then further evidence comes from this thread after Obsidian said no romances in Pillars of Eternity. What about in game romance makes...

Two more new ones for the weekend.
Mote - An effort to improve the virtual tabletop program maptools. This has the support of the original founders of maptools, and promises to be an evolution of...
Do you remember the puzzle with the chicken corpse and the termites? Lucas Arts difficulty, although low for the old games, is what I'm trying to avoid.
My fiancee absolutely loved Broken Age. Now she's interested in adventure games, but since Broken Age was the perfect difficulty for her I was wondering if there are any others of similar...

Surprised I missed Book of Unwritten Tales 2: A modestly successful adventure game returns with a sequel. It's already $20k over its $65k initial goal, and it gets sidequests in another $10k. I've...

It's really hard to judge total player base by concurrent players. Steam hit 7m concurrent people this winter, but only 1m were playing games, and they have 60m+ accounts.
I bounced off it. It's intricate, and the story seemed interesting enough, but I didn't really like the combat system. It's not a sidescrolling thing either, since I love/have beaten Tales of...

Alright, weekend news time.
Classroom Aquatic, a stealth game about cheating in a classroom full of dolphins. In the first update they say that a part of kickstarter will be used to...

Also, even though I haven't been nearly as active as I was a month ago (new job, new challenges), I tend to follow the following rough guidelines in my own selection process (which is not...

About Broken Age.
In every village there were four girls. Similarly, in every screen where Shay was rescuing creatures there were four creatures. Then there's that door that Shay can't open with...

I second the mention VtMB, the computer system firmly placed the setting in time, and definitely provided a feeling of interacting with the computer.

LoL tried a raft of changes that its extremely conservative competitors did not. Some worked and some did not, but I'd much rather they experiment than get a reskinned Dota from S2 and then Valve. ...
