If your doing a 2d game just get hold of gamemaker studio. Do something simple then polish it like hell, don't let yourself get bogged down in feature creep.
Also its easier to make a turn based...
I think the thing is with MMOs, most people can only play one at a time. Some MMO's are a bit more supportive of drop in drop out play like say Planetside 2, but most of them require a massive time...

or Age of Wonders 3

it's not as good as the other older bioware games.
that said, it craps all over dragon age 2

when it was initially pitched and the early demos were around it looked like an awesome prospect / idea. but its looking like one of them bit off more than they could chew projects, its insanely...

i always think of metroid (the way you need certain characters to access certain bits) and mario (all the secret stuff)
but much much easier than both

bethesda should just hire in croteam to make a doom 4 or quake 5. be interesting to see what they can do with bigger budget.

crysis and warhead yeah.
crysis 2 was linear as fuck, felt like COD with aliens. crysis 3 i hear is even worse.

which is better SR3 or SR4?

Its good. until you realise you can "cheat" the system by building your own arenas to farm the various bosses. That said at an hours played to cost ratio its probably been the best value game ive...

probably going to get burnt at the stake as a heretic
but I prefer Fallout 3. I wasnt into the whole western thing as much, the story was better in new vegas, but the atmosphere was better in...

SF4 is perfectly playable on a game pad. game pads have a bad rep in fighting games because the D-pad on the X-box controller is baggy, and thats the controller most pc gamers use. the older...

I don't get how Rott is less linear? There both the same to me, standard for a half life style shooter, not as on the rails as cod, obviously not open world like stalker. Whats different in rott? ...

well ROTT and SW attempt the same thing, but SW is better in my opinion because the combat feels better, its more meatier. Also it looks much nicer.

half life and half life 2 still play in a similar fashion, sure there's the vehicle bits bolted onto HL2, but it still feels like a proper sequel. Doom 3 plays nothing at all like doom 2, it's got...

doom 3 wasn't a doom game for me.
doom is about mowing down hordes of enemies, exploring for secrets, running around like a nutter and rock hard boss battles.
doom 3 had non of that, just a bunch...
thats basicly the elite formula, its a sandbox game, I can't see there ever being quest chains and what have you, that would be more star citizen. Although i'm more interested in elite, i prefer a...

Shadow warrior is one of the best current single player FPS, along with the new wolfenstein
for coop - left 4 dead 2 or serious sam 3
for pvp - planetside 2

im enjoying ESO, despite all the "hip kids" saying its a bad game and "a wow copy". I don't particularly like wow though. I see ESO as GW2 done right.

just dont get it, its a mash up of diablo and a fps, but its bad at both, fps are terrible when they up the difficulty by putting in bullet sponge enemies

dont think there is a modern equivalent to bullfrog, because their work was so British. Likewise devs like Sensible, Psygnosis, Bitmap Brothers, Shiny, Rare etc..
British games industry now seems...
