We are in an era of bankrupt creativity being bankrolled by aging gamers with increasing pools of disposable income.
It is great that a lot of talented designers, artists, and...
Just like in real life.
Here is a potential candidate for Horace the Infinite Bear to consider for inclusion in the RPS Advent Calendar:
Best first person melee simulator this...

I highly recommend Settlers 7. I just played through the campaign this year and absolutely loved it. The beginning is a little slow since the game sort of builds the tutorial into the first couple of...

Up until this past weekend I had never played an MMO before. In recent years I have expressed some cautious curiosity about a few titles, but only really peered at them from a distance. Guild Wars 2...

I was just browsing the top sellers under $5 and while I own most of it, I have to think "Wow" there is a lot of amazing gaming content in that category for a pittance of change. If I was someone...

Cortex Command (currently at $4.99): http://store.steampowered.com/app/209670
Worth it before the sale ends?

Zero chance unless they come up in another community vote, but they have lost every time (sadly) so you won't see a deeper cut for either game for the duration of this sale.

I highly recommend Reciever for that price. The art assets look like placeholders, but they actually create a really moody atmosphere and do work in this instance. Give the game an honest chance and...

It's because of people like you that we can't have nice things.
Next time put on your cilice before you sit down to vote on Steam sales.

Thoughts on Risen 1 and/or Risen 2 (+ DLC)? Any advocates here? I am willing to put up with a difficulty curve and some jankiness if the overall experience is sound.
Thanks for the info. I have been curious about it, but I would most likely only end up playing it singleplayer and I doubt my wife would be interested.
What do you mean by this. I have been thinking about Monaco, but I have heard a lot of regret about this title recently. Thanks for your thoughts!

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Regarding WWII weapons in FPS games. I think the aspect of the dialogue we are missing is not how creative the models, assets, ammunition, or ballistics models are...but for me the biggest game...

Yeah I don't think it went below 10% on Steam but you could get it cheaper at other sites like GreenManGaming by using one of their general-purpose or pre-order discount codes. I picked it up for the...

If I remember correctly, games would have the same (or roughly the same) discount regardless if they appeared in the daily sales or the flash sales. Usually if a games shows up in one of those that...

I don't know your platform preferences, but System Shock 2 is currently $4.99 on GOG at this very moment and should stay that price until the end of their #NoDRM Summer Sale (ending July...
I agree wholeheartedly with the above message.
Is AssCreed 3 worthwhile at that price? I enjoyed 2, but I haven't yet played Brotherhood or Revelations (despite owning them). The setting for AC3 is really compelling, but it seems the gameplay is...
Far Cry 2: An immersive-sim that should NOT be played as a power trip game. Crank the difficulty up, do not take an optimal weapon loadout, and set some of your own rules to up the challenge (e.g....
