Hey, I know that you're my only hope to not get my ass bitten off by zombies, but I really need this $1000 for fixing your baseball bat. is biggest immersion breaker in survival games.
Yeah, let's make fuss about someone accidentally (I assume he doesn't use this term all the time) using wrong phrase in public speech.
I hate this world sometimes.

Another site with free assets.

You need a unit vector pointing from character to mouse cursor for forward/backward movement and another unit vector that is perpendicular to the first one for strafing.
Also polar coordinates may...
It's in German, you're cheating. >:-(

I've also provided some solutions to these issues.
Quick summary: remodeled experience points (for example no more exp for killing), remodeled level/power curves (logarithmic instead of linear or...

Uhm, I've adressed more issues than just only huge difference between first and last level stats.
Birdman - one of those rare movies that are from very good to perfect at everything - plot, shots, performances, scenography, music etc. Everything. Especially shots, that one continuous camera...

^You really can have them both. I mean, common sense and fun.

It's not even about making RPG systems more realistic, it's more about infusing them with basic common sense.

I think all shmup fans are staring at you with disbelief right now.

This post reminds me of another thing that is often overlooked in RPGs (and any other genre).
Not every action must be profitable. I would even say that making a certain choice that will not give...
Meh, it's watchable, but nothing more.
Also, people of Middle Earth should seriously start worshipping eagles, they are always saving a day.

Well, this thread kinda drifted away from the original topic, but there's still an interesting discussion anyway.

You don't have always to take away all the stuff from the player.
What if some sections of the game you would face a neutral army camp that would let you go but they would confiscate some of your...
I didn't know that second (or first chronologically) trilogy was made of direct-to-DVD movies.
It's so cringeworthy.

Could you write more about this? I'm curious.
Or huge emotional moment.

I would love to see more RPGs with personal plot (does they even exist?). Something like Brothers: Tale of Two Sons (not RPG by any means) where it still had epic journey through world 10 times...
That shitty CGI background (and dialogues) from last 2 clips gave me a cancer.
It's probably the most intense music related movie ever made. Well played, both music and by actors. Actually there are an Oscar worthy performances.

In Stalker you progress by obtaining new gear - more powerful and accurate weapons and suits that allow you to not die in toxic anomalies or radiated (a bootle of vodka and/or anti-rad drugs will do...

I disagree. It is possible to make a leveling system that will have an impression of beign realistic and still maintain some degree of an abstraction.
Simple solution - instead of just adding...

Warning: this thread may seriously offend some RPG purists.
OK, let's fix/discuss the RPGs. We'll start with basics - leveling systems.
Think about your fauvorite RPG game - it's Baldur's...

I love you.
That's why Stalker is one of the finest examples of RPG systems (at least combat wise) - you can only "level up" slightly by getting better armour and weapons.
I think I'll start a...
Metal Slug have announcer at mission start, end and everytime you pick up weapons.
It's kinda weak without music and other SFX...
