A BR1 with coyotes WILL lose against a good pilot with a a nosegun. Coyotes aren't an insta-kill weapon, in fact, they don't do very much damage at all. It takes 24 coyotes to kill a full health ESF, that's half of your entire ammo pool. The TTK (assuming he hits every shot and has maximum reload speed) is 9.2 seconds. If an enemy ESF gets behind you at 30 metres you WILL die, whether they have coyotes or not. If you let an enemy ESF do this than you're not a very good pilot especially if you have a wingman. If you go up against a pilot who is skilled with the nosegun and is using coyotes and you have just the nose gun, you'll probably lose because your ESF isn't specialised in a2a. The downside of coyotes is that they aren't rocket pods. An ESF using coyotes won't be of any use when there is no enemy aircraft to fight. All coyotes do is give newer pilots a chance against skilled ones at the expense of being useless against anything other than ESF's. Flares do block coyotes, and an enemy can't use coyotes against anything outside of 50m. They're the air equivalent of using a shotgun, you're great in close combat, but awful anywhere else.

So, I auraxiumed my Orion and switched back to medic.

I tried out the NS-11. I just couldn't get it to be at a good spot in close range that I was comfortable with; the damage and fire rates are too low.

I've had the NS-11 in my second slot for a long time; it's been my go-to for Esamir and any mid-range engagements, so I think I'll keep it there.

The Terminus, however, feels like coming home. Love it.

I've been playing heavy for a while, but being going back to medic recently to Aurax the corvus (sitting 900 for at least a month), and go back to the terminus, I really like it.

The Terminus is interesting in that it has the highest rate of fire of all 143/125 dmg profile guns in the game.

Shame you cant get the NS-11 to work, it's by far my favourite gun, having replaced the trusty Eidolon on my engi, and the HV-45 on my medic, and the Pulsar/Solstice on my Light Assault.

The Zenith VX-5 carbine for engies and light assaults is on member's sale. Is it worth picking up?

I am currently using it on my Light Assault. It feels like in between the Serpent and the Pulsar C, so you are effectively extending your range compared to the Serpent a bit on cost of CQC effectivity.
I would recommand picking it up if you play LA/Engie a lot but in general it has nothing neither a Serpent nor a Pulsar C can do

Right. It was dirt cheap, so I went ahead and bought it. He yet to see much of it in action, though the advanced foregrip seems really handy.

I like the Zenith, I never got on with the Serpent - but I should probably give it another shot.

I'm currently playing mostly Medic or Engineer. My go-to setup is usually like this:

    Close Range : Eridani SX5
    Mid Range: Pulsar VS1 / Solstice VE3
Long Range: Eidolon VE33 (very rarely used, tho)

I assume there might be a better choice for the mid range, but I've got no idea what to buy, any clues?

The Serpent doesn't scale very well with range.

I like the NS11-C for mid range engie, because it's accurate and 75% ADS move speed is awesome.

NS11C, I want to love it but I never seem to kill anything with it. It's an assist machine

It's hella stable, so go for headshots. I like it a lot, but I only equip it when I go for medium range fights, that helps.

Zenith is my favourite carbine and fastest auraxium. I liked it so much that I just played light assault and engineer until I had bagged the auraxium medal, basically. Its characteristics makes it perfect for the sweet spot of light assault engagement ranges. I have heard that some people consider it inferior to the VX6-7, but the Zenith is just so much nicer to shoot. It is not completely straightforward to use, but once you learn how to handle it, its a beast. Go for very rapid bursts.

ADS headshots, I assume, up to.. what? 30-40 m? AFG + flash suppressor? Or do you use a sound suppressor?

The optimal range is 15-40m and headshots in ADS are preferrable. I use advanced forward grip and no other attachments. Flash suppressor hurts cone of fire bloom, which can be detrimental to this weapon.

So I finished my first auraxium, the NS-15m, it's a great mid-range weapon and with a compensator it has little to no recoil. I heartily reccomend it. It took me about a month of playing almost exclusively as heavy assault and it's not an experience I want to have again, so I've decided my next auraxium will be on my eridani sx5g, which was the first gun I ever fired in the game, I already have around 800 kills on it so it shouldn't take very long. I'm then going to move on and auraxium all the other smg's so in which order do you recommend I do them in?
