    That's because the Democrats have learned that to win elections they have to do what the Republicans do, which is cozy up with business interests that can fund campaigns. If Republicans are in the pocket of finance corporations, Democrats are in the pocket of media corporations, etc.

    The Republicans do have Murdoch on their side. And given that Obama didn't take any significant action to regulate the banking sector after the 2008 banking crisis, I feel that the Democratic party has a relationship with them too.

    I didn't say they were exclusive relationships. Business treats investments like investments, and they'd be remiss if they didn't diversify their portfolios.
