WvW Special Ops Squad: Tuesday 7th May, 8:30pm UK time
It looks likely (although not certain) that the noble souls of Gunnar's Hold will be facing the uberzergs of Ruins of Surmia in WvW for at least another week. Such circumstances can drain morale, so let's have another RPS event to raise spirits!
With Surmia's massive numbers, the worst thing we can do is to face them head on, or on their own terms. I have some ideas for unconventional tactics & manoeuvres which might help us to pinch some towers from under their noses. (I won't describe these here, since this is an open forum.) I'm not sure how well they'll work -- finding out will be part of the fun!
Date: Tuesday 7th May.
Place: we'll meet at The Atrium, Divinity's Reach (the very middle of the city - near the Asura gate to Lion's Arch) just before the above time. Choice of WvW map will depend on their state at the time, but it will likely be a Borderland.
Requirements: if you have a choice of toons, bring one with high mobility, since we'll be moving around the map a lot. Otherwise, bring whatever you like. Try to pick up some siege in advance from a siege vendor in WvW.
We'll be using RPS mumble -- details on the G tab in-game.
All welcome, including WvW newbies!GW2: Saphnabylni & co.

I should be able to make it, 8:30 is about when I usually log on. My Ele ought to count as mobile, though less so since the RTL nerf, or can swap to my locust signetted conditiony necro if preferred.

A reminder for this, 8:30pm tomorrow night folks.
Since we're not facing RoS as we expected, I'm thinking that the clandestine tactics won't be so necessary -- I'll save them for next week, when we're likely to be up against the Blobs of Surmia once again. So this will probably be more of a standard WvW run. That said, we might get in some practice at new things!GW2: Saphnabylni & co.

Thanks for coming along tonight folks!
Not our most successful evening in terms of capping stuff, but a fun time anyway. WSR were surprisingly effective at scouting and defending their stuff, and we didn't manage to find too many opportunities for a group our size to take something quickly.
The closest we got was at Bay on Arborstone BL, where we got the inner down to 10% before WSR stopped us in our tracks.
I enjoyed the approach of trying to do stuff under the radar, but would try to be a bit less cautious less time. Hopefully we'll try this again soon!GW2: Saphnabylni & co.

Thanks for organizing Saph! Had great fun and sorry for spamming you with too much "lets do this, lets do that" on mumble
I'm a bit annoyed at how good WSR were at defending Arborstone Bay in the face of repeated assaults from us and Arborstone. I can understand us not managing to take it (although 10% on inner gate is pretty good) as we were a small group, but the numbers Arborstone was fielding were just silly... with absolutely no results on their part.[GW2] The Blackfyre clan: Aliss (Guardian) Alyss (Mesmer) Lyss (Engineer) and others.
