You can still effectively use him and his changes make him niche but useful now.

Solo up against a Darkseer is great fun, poor lil guy can't do anything as you out regen the ion shell with denies and last hits and have a horrid silence of death + rupture...

Yeh he's not core but he is definately usable and has a niche now.

Seeker really wrecks Slark yeh, however the changes to Slark make him pretty rubbish now anyway.

Rubicks fade bolt shouldn't be discounted too, the -dmg makes it harder to last hit and deny so he can't regen as much and becomes more harassable.

Well then. I was seriously expecting legion commander to be the next hero. Then again I didn't really follow it.
As for their roles, judging by the abilities I'd say that Earth would be an initiator, or maybe a support even? Fire's probably more of a semi-carry/tank. But I have no experience with them.

I'd say Ember can played as a hard carry or a mid game hero.
Earth, I'm really not sure. My first guess would be support.

Earth can be a ganker / initiater, but his problem is, that his skills are not really reliable enough for that, so there are usually better alternatives. But if you manage to hit your stuff, it's actually really effective, and fun too.

His skills have a somewhat weird scaling, as very little changes by leveling. This means that he can already be effective early on and since the mana costs don't change, the slow scaling is kinda balanced by the fact, that you can cast more often at higher levels.

When looking at his global win rate (under 35%), it seems that people still have to figure him out (and maybe a buff or two).

His ult range definitely needs a buff, seeing how ridiculously short it is atm. And he's definitely an initiator Really hard, but pretty fun. I've only done well in bot games so far though.

It has short range, but on the other hand, it's completely insane in its power to compensate. Silences and slows are transferred between all magnetized enemies (including creeps!), as is the refresh with stone remnants.

Let's be honest, this is a high skill hero. From what I understand from the hero so far, he has the potential to stun and silence an entire team (2.5 seconds for the stun and a whopping 5 seconds on the silence) while dealing a decent amount of damage and a 80% movement / attack speed slow to follow it up is crazy.

I'm patiently waiting for someone with the positioning and skill to pull it off.
    I'll Sproink you out m8

I can pull this on bots and people if I'm really, really lucky. My latest attempt ended in a 1-15 score for me and a loss for the team. Again, sorry to the people I played with that match :/

I was pretty feedy in my first botmatch as Earth Spirit. They did a lot of 5man and our teamfight wasn't so great with me being crap with his skills.

The funny part was how serious our guy playing Windrunner was. I guess I did give him cause for exasperation by unintentionally swatting enemies away from our chase a few times... heh. That Q skill can be great if you actually face the right direction.

I quite like Earth and been getting better with him and winning matches. Although I still need ot work out a decent item build for him. Im finding though that ramboing in 1st to initiate with stun boulder combo to land the ult generally gets you killed if you cant get most of the enemy team and even then after the stun wears off they all focus me. Reckon he is better as a follow up after initiation or counter initiator. His skills make him amazing at ganking and pain to lane against.
