    Wwrpsfd?

    What would RPS Forum Do?

An occasional thread with questions of moral import for the community to chime in on

    Question 1

About a year ago I gave away some stuff on steamgifts.com - the winners all seemed quite happy apart from one who never bothered contact me despite multiple emails and a few messages sent through Steam.

Roll on to yesterday when I get a Steam Friend request from some who claims to be this person and is demanding, in no uncertain terms, the game he's "been waiting a year for" - his social skills are not great - nor is his English.

    WWRPSFD?

p.s. I might still have the key around somewhere but it's upto you whether he gets it or not - bearing in mind it MIGHT not work...

p.p.s. yes, it's probably those card things at work...

I'd check the Terms of Use of steamgifts, assuming they have any. If not, you're not really obligated to, but if you still have the key, might as well, right? If you feel like it, you can give it to him but totally call him on his tardiness.

I think the right thing to do is block it, so you don't receive a new message from him.

The reason is that "demanding" a game is rude, and if anything somebody asking for a game must be friendly. If he is not friendly, has not business asking for gifts.

Based on my own experience gifting games with RPS people is positive. So maybe you can try that next time.
RPS is not the best community in the world, but is better than average.

Yeah, if he'd come in and said "Hey, it's been a long time but I wondered if you still had..." I'd have sorted-him-out if I could - but instead I gets the TOS quoted at me and he says I "HAVE TO GIVE HIM HIS GAME".

I'm trying to make allowances for the face English clearly isn't his first language - I'd be shit at asking this in Russian I'm sure - but still, after almost 12 months, you'd have to think your chances were slim and that asking would maybe work better than demanding?

or is this a 'In Soviet Russia' thing? A country where they prosecute dead people for doing the things they likely were tortured-to-death for blowing the whistle on!!

What I Would Do: probably just send it to him.
What I Would Do On An Uncheerful Day: pretend he does not exist.
Comedy Option: buy him a copy of Gish.
Good-Game Comedy Option: buy him a copy of Freedom Force.

Oh the 'give him a key for Magic Ponies' idea is a good one - what is the worst game on Steam?

    AHA!

    Question 2

What is the worst game you could gift to someone on Steam

I'm thinking Bad Rats - someone once said it was Numen but I own that and it was OK right upto the point I got into a loop which I couldn't get out of in a quest - if only that were guaranteed :)
