Let's do something fun: let's talk Xbox One!

The rhyme is free of charge!

So, have you seen the announcement stream? What do you think?

    Pretty weak announcements overall.

Specs on the surface look the same as the PS4.

Having the first official game footage being of EA Sports games was incredibly weak-sauce. "Announcing for the XboxOne, those games that you all knew would be on our system anyway". Same with CoD. And Forza. The original IP piece didn't look great and the fact they used actors and real footage in it makes me think it's going to be meh at best.

Finally all the other stuff that I can do on my PC already doesn't interest me.

A weak reveal, but 15 exclusives and the specs were at least promising. They shouldn't have billed it as such a big reveal if they intend to show all the games at E3.

At least it's not always online.

Do we know that, or did they just not mention it?

What strikes me is that gaming was only a very small part of the presentation and most of what they showed was pre-rendered stuff. Also most of the "features" won't make it outside the US. So in end, there is not much left.

Microsoft in a nutshell. People outside the US aren't really people. We're lucky if we even get to throw money at Microsoft at all, as far as they are concerned.

Apparently in an interview afterwards they confirmed it's not always online.

Ah, so it probably just needs to be online when you want to start a game, save a game, load a new level etc.

Games can be always-online if the developers choose to. So you'll never know if that game you've been looking for will be or not

I will buy a console for 1 game. I've done it a lot in the past. I haven't bought any Xbox, and could not be less interested in this new one. They never have any worthwhile exclusives. Gears and Halo are stupid doritos/mountain dew bullshit. There's absolutely no need to own an Xbox if you have a PC and PS3.

That's kinda dismissive. I'm not claiming Gears or Halo are ultra smart games, but they offer a lot content-wise and aren't filled with microtransactions etc.

They sell Gears and Halo games at 7-11s. I think that says it all.

Gears of War and Halo have both been really fun game series long before the Mountain Dew/Dorritos bullshit ever happened. Yes, they're dumb stories and the characters are all one dimensional, but that doesn't make them any less fun.
