This rig is the most endearingly mental that I've ever seen. The specs are:
4.6GHz i7 CPU
16GB DDR3 RAM
850W PSU
AMD Radeon HD 6990 Dual GPU 4GB VRAM
You can upgrade it, what to, deep thought?

"It's not just a fact, it's cold, hard speculation."
But can it play The Witcher 2 with Ubersampling?
You can't have seen many high end rigs then.

2x6 Core processors running @ 3.8Ghz with multithreading (giving 12 logical and 12 theoretical processing cores... 24 cores of task-manager-stretching-goodness)
48GB of Ram, support for up to 8 PCI-E 16X graphics cards.
and its only £2757!
I've had an 850Watt PSU in my rig for about 3 years now, needed it for when I was overclocking on my HD2900Pro (RIP little card).
I can accept stuff like two high-end video cards at once or putting C: on a dedicated SSD but this kind of thing is just stupid.
Youve never worked in video editing then.

"Quantacat's name is still recognised even if he watches on with detached eyes like Peter Molyneux over a cube in 3D space, staring at it with tears in his eyes, softly whispering... Someday they'll get it."
I would assume that if you're serious enough to spend 2k+GBP on a video editing PC, there is a small market who specializes in it. So you go there and not just to a normal shop who just threw a lot of CPUs together resulting in questionable efficiency.
Since you can also buy the Flint/Flame/Inferno systems with a dongle since a couple of years, you can also build your own rig, any way you wish. as long as it runs UNIX.
They used to use missile guidance systems.

That's impressive, but don't forget to add 4 of http://ncix.com/products/?sku=60948&...Z%20Technology
in a RAID-0 array! I suppose you could also add a soundcard, but why bother when you can get another HD 6990 for audio only.
Thats nearly as rediculous as that 8 HHD RAID array tomshardware tried out some time ago, I wonder if anyones tried something similar with a bunch of supercharged SSDs, CPU limited boots anyone?
