    I seem to recall that I've played Engineer on Iwo Jima, though I was a bit redundant and a bit gimped fighting-wise. Might be something that most admins are electing to turn off.

    Betio is still in but bugged and crashes a server when loaded.
    And yeah, Engineers are mainly used in Classic mode, where you don't get the satchel charges at the ammo dumps, so no real need for them in Realism.

    I don't see any reason to lock the Hero weapon unlocks from the enemy side, if someone is on such a high level they destroy everything with any gun anyway. ;)

    Also, apparently Multiplay will not fix the issue with Territory mode reverting to defaults after each server restart due to them being too lazy to change how they host the required file so that no one can currently edit it, which is why I will look for a cheap way to rent a dedicated box to put RS on there by my own. THis could get expensive though and I am not sure if I will go through with it.

    Multiplay can go fuck themselves though for calling themselves the No. 1 place to rent RS servers from, if you can't even fix such a minor issue.

    In other news, another event this Friday at 9 PM UK time, we'll play whichever game mode you guys prefer.

    I would much rather have complete control over the server rather than putting up with the stuff hosting companies do with their hardware, especially because most companies host several servers on the same machine and they are often too underpowered for bots etc.

    Belated thanks for the replies to my questions.

    So there's a patch today:

    General:
    • Full Gore Enabled for German builds of the game
    • InB4Reset experience bonus has been turned off


    Game Mode:

    • Fixed a bug where players who took over bots could not climb ladders
    • Fixed several cases where players who took over bots could end up in a stuttering state
    • Fixed a case where players were spawning outside of play area in FireFight
    • In Firefight, added Thompson SMG to automatic rifleman - Known Issue that this is not working on FF-Hanto
    • Fixed Engineers losing points destroying objectives on swapped team in Multiplayer Campaign


    UI:
    • Fixed a case where the spawn selection menu would disappear
    • Fixed Role Screen placing you in another role when players spawned
    • Added a message to the commander that called a recon plane in that lets him know if his recon plane was shot down
    • Added a kill message when a recon plane is shot down


    Weapon:

    • Fixed iron sights on the lvl 50 BAR putting the player into the cover state
    • Fixed BAR not being able to lean out of left or right cover with iron sights
    • Fixed lvl 50 Type99 LMG scoped mouse sensitivity being too low
    • Fixed a case where players lower body would not animate during machine gun reloads
    • Fixed an infinite fire exploit
    • Fixed machine guns breaking when taking over a bot in Countdown


    Recon Plane:

    • Fixed the recon plane sometimes not spawning when called
    • Fixed the recon plane sometimes starting it’s path from the wrong location
    • Fixed recon planes getting stuck between rounds
    • Recon planes are now easier to shoot down
    • Shooting down the enemy recon plane no longer gives a negative score
    • Improved damage effects for when recon planes are damage or shot down
    • Modified the points awarded for killing a recon plane


    Guadalcanal:

    • Objectives A and B now lock when captured.
    • Increased capture time of A and B from 15s to 20s.
    • Reduced capture time of C from 30s to 25s.
    • Fixed cover bugs.
    • Fixed missing / misplaced sounds.
    • Fixed a stationary MG at A that was too low


    Hanto:

    • Increased capture time of the Base Camp (d) from 15s to 25s.
    • Fixed cover bugs.
    • Fixed missing / misplaced sounds.


    Iwojima:

    • Objectives A and B now lock when captured.
    • Increased capture time of A and B from 15s to 20s.
    • Reduced capture time of C from 30s to 25s.
    • Fixed cover bugs.
    • Fixed missing / misplaced sounds.


    Kwajalein:

    • Reduced Axis spawn time from 25s to 20s.
    • Modified the capture volume shape on the last objective slightly.
    • Cleaned up NoArtilleryVolumes.
    • Fixed cover bugs.
    • Fixed missing / misplaced sounds.

    Peleliu:

    • All 3 fixed MGs will now spawn at the first two objectives instead of randomly picking 2.
    • Moved Axis spawn for the Airfield Defences (b) back about 20 meters.
    • Fixed cover bugs.
    • Fixed missing / misplaced sounds.


    Barashka:
    • Fixed radios not working in Barashka 16p version


    PunkBuster:
    • Update to server Punkbuster files to fix or greatly reduce the instances where full servers lag out for a short period of time and give a large amount of the clients on the server "speed hack detected" errors.

    Very glad they've fixed that ladder bug and the respawn into bots bug that left you frozen to the spot, I've had that a lot, bloody annoying.

    I can't do the RPS game this Friday but hopefully next time, and will get my Mumble microphone working properly, I could hear you guys but not transmit last time.

    Another event this Friday, usual time, still on my server.

    This time around I thought it might be fun to see what happens if we turn off ALL kill notifications.

    This Friday was going to be my last game in about a month or so due to the fact I'm moving and need to pack up my computer, but something came up in that a few friends are going back to their home countries and on Fri I will have my last opportunity to see them.
    May drop in late on the server, but if not its been fun the few times I played with you lot!

    Shame that you won't be able to join us, but I hope that we will still get a decent turnout for this week's session, as it will be the last one held on my server, and after that we've got something in the works to migrate to a different server, more about that later.

    And Lo! The information was posted!

    So basically the Arma guys, Folk ARPS (www.folkarps.com) own a server box. Since Ivan has had issues with multiplay being less than stunning we have set up a RO/RS server on our box for the use of guys from both FA and RPS.

    Filter for any part of Folk ARPS and it should show up.

    If you would like to use our TS3 server that is not a problem at all either (server.folkarps.com). The RS server is pretty much the same settings as the old proving grounds one and if you need admin things doing give a holler at Ivan (comrade commissar), Wolfenswan or myself.

    I might be. Writing an exam tomorrow and might go out drinking afterwards, but if I am around I will announce it over the Steam group that we will play.

    I apologise for not really keeping up with creating event sessions and announcements every week, but I usually was busy on Fridays.
    Hopefully with an influx of new players due to the sale we can start getting a bit more regular sessions again.

    While I am somewhat back now (still have two weeks of faffing about with people stuff) I was wondering if there were games going due to the new, shinny RO2 maps? They seems to be, like the last batch of RO2 stuff, stepping back into big open space layouts.
