Hey now, Wizardry bashers: yes he's a pain, but let's not start up a witch hunt to drive him out of town. No no.

That's enough guys, get the thread back on topic.
But that's not what it's about. People dislike anti-globalisation for actual reasons. Like, y'know, stuff like the fact it degrades a lot of cultures when shit comes in.
Now if everyone really liked a food and it was biologically impossible to not like it and then some people came along and went, "OH, LOOK AT US HATING ON THIS FOOD BECAUSE IT'S DELICIOUS AND EVERYONE ELSE LIKES IT" then that'd be a fair example. Not exactly fair because there are genuine opinions hidden in THIS particular mess, but people like Bilbo linked in the OP are the irritation and drown out those genuine opinions.
They're like anti-hipsters! Powered by ironic hate rather than ironic 'cool'.

Personally I only like bands that haven't actually formed yet.
You guys are going to love Electric Dildomonkey. Once they sell out and exist and have fans and stuff, obviously.
A brave heart and a courteous tongue. They shall carry thee far through the jungle, manling.
That's why I only wear hand-drawn t-shirts of bands that don't exist. That way, if anyone asks about them, I can suck my teeth and roll my eyes.
Pfft. Mine aren't even famous enough have home-made t-shirts. You're so defined by THE MAN, Nalano!

I prefer bands for whom their notoriety is held in a quantum superposition. As soon as they become one or the other it's over.

"Quantacat's name is still recognised even if he watches on with detached eyes like Peter Molyneux over a cube in 3D space, staring at it with tears in his eyes, softly whispering... Someday they'll get it."
Well, that's a sweeping generalization that I find slightly insulting. In any case, my apathy is like a shield of steel.
Edit;
To be honest everyone on the internet comes across as smug in at least some of their posts/comments (including myself, obviously), and any confrontation results in the risk of you sounding just as bad. Just move on. Only contribute if you've got an actual point (or a pun). Huh. That probably means I shouldn't have commented. Bugger.

Me, I anti-conform ironically and uncle-conform with sincerity.
*shakes head sadly* Still so far away...
Anyhoo,
Regarding the anti-conformists, I was one of those in all aspects of life for a long time when I was about 14-16 years old. Thankfully I was somewhat disabused of the notion (largely through timely reading of G.K. Chesterton).
I think there are plenty of reasons to question widely held opinions, and plenty of reasons to protest against the love of simply rehashing widely held opinions when presented with any marginally-related discussion, but if you are simply holding an opinion because it's unpopular...well, actually that can be amusing to see, but when it's accompanied (as it so often is) by some kind of indignant accusation that the majority "doesn't understand subjectivity" or "WELL it's MY OPINION so SHUT UP and stop being an OPINION NAZI"...
...yeah...
