    L4D3.ru - legit or a joke?

    A friend just sent me this... http://l4d3.ru/ - a teaser page for what claims to be Left 4 Dead 3. Looks rather sophisticated to me, but why .ru? If you would create a fake website, wouldn't you go that extramile and get a more "trustworthy" tl domain instead?

    Judging from the source (hah!) code the links all seem to point at the official websites as well, so no scam effort there...

    I'm quite sure there's an Official Rule of the Internet somewhere which says that more often than not, things ending in .ru are not legit...

    I feel like the page would look more cooler if it was real (and also would include a fuzzy background-glimpse of a severed hand clasping a hat full of trading cards).
    Support for my all-pepperjack-cheese food bank charity drive has been lukewarm at best.

    Well L4D2 was simply way too successful for Valve to not make a sequel. It's also the perfect vehicle for hats and trading cards, as loathe as I am to admit it. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see it launch alongside the Steambox, whenever that comes out.

    Well, the countdown would coincide with Gamescom, but the .ru domain pretty much gives it away. Besides, we all know Valve can't count up to three. ;)

    //edit:
    I just noticed how bad of a company and publishing platform name valve has. steam.com ist taken and tombstoned, valve.com is taken and now parked, and valve lost a complaint to gain control over valve.com in 2005..

    They can just do what the whole industry is doing and release a new game called HalfLife.

    You know why it's called Half-Life? Because you'll spend half your life waiting for the next installment
