Everyone should be forced to attend RPS meet ups to experience first hand just how often Quanta decides it's time to start speaking in his Arnie voice.

From my limited amount of time with you on comms..yes. Yes you do. It's also hilariously accurate! I then went to work and told everyone about how awesome it was.

I think the microphone amp cutoff really helps giving it that "grainy" feeling.

I've tried using the fix for the Mumble overlay on 64bit client, but it's not displaying. Has a recent mumble or PS2 update necessitated a different fix?

I found the first time I used it that this happened - the fix seems to be to alt tab to the overlay, then back to PS2. I don't know if there's any more permanent way of getting it work.

I wrote the following script for myself, working without problems:

    Code:
    TASKKILL /IM mumble-d.exe /F
    start /D "D:\Program Files (x86)\Mumble" mumble.exe
    start /D "D:\Program Files (x86)\Mumble\mumble overlay" mumble-d.exe
I already posted it somewhere, can't remember where though

EDIT: Detailed explanation of the commands:
    Code:
    TASKKILL /IM mumble-d.exe /F
Looks if mumble-d.exe is running and terminates it if so. I thought this would be the simplest solution when I found it was running twice one session a while ago (because I quit mumble - but not mumble-d - and started it again).
/IM means I specify the imagename of the process rather than its process ID, /F forces the process to terminate.
    Code:
    start /D "D:\Program Files (x86)\Mumble" mumble.exe
Starting Mumble itself, /D means that the executable is not in the same directory as the script and I want to specify a path where it is found.
    Code:
    start /D "D:\Program Files (x86)\Mumble\mumble overlay" mumble-d.exe
    Basically the same as above

Yeah, I've found out that the proper load order is:
    1. Mumble
    2. mumble-d.exe
    3. PS2

so I've been wondering, what is the SCU generator? I've been playing for a long time and heard it mentioned in some larger bases like amp stations but I've never figured out what the damned thing is, where it is, and what it does.

Spawn Control Unit, No SCU and you can no longer spawn in the spawnroom that base as defender.

Ahh, thank you, that explains why sometimes the enemy spawn shields goes down.

The SCU is usually in the centre of the base (except tech labs, they are closer to the spawn room) and the shields protecting it go down when the base is 75% (?) capped. Anyone can shoot both ways through these shields but only defenders can walk through them.

In Bio Labs though there is an SCU Generator which keeps these shields up and so you can bring them down at any time. The generator is always (?) on the ground floor in a large building next to the central SCU tower.

Whether enemy spawn shields go down depends on the base (just to keep things confusing).

I accidentally threw out a proximity mine (instead of ammo) in a congested (with friendlies) area, today.
Was there a way I could've picked it up or moved it, at least?
