Pretty much Populous, and quite fun.

    Shelter:

Borsuk in particular should vote for this.

    Drox Operative:
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=122180124
    The well-reviewed spaceship ARPG

    Megabyte Punch:
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=93137992
A cross between Smash Bros and Megaman, or Smash Bros with customizable parts. The type of local coop PC desperately needs.

    A Hat in Time:
A 3d platformer that has a lot built in already, and looks absolutely great.
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92952101

    Malevolence: Sword of Ahkronax
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=93060707
A neat looking RPG that had a moderately successful kickstarter, and hit beta this February.

Some games that have been out a while and are pretty cool:
Dino Run SE - Dinos running from meteors.
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92211076
Dark Scavenger- Really cool looking game with good reviews.
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92947691
Neo Scavenger - Survival RPG that's pretty fun and well made.
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92934582
Real Texas - Zelda but with dumb cowboys
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92933186
    Escape Goat:
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=92951461

    Exodus:
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...s/?id=93097558
    A beautiful metroidvania.

Knytt Chronicles: - Sequel to the amazing Knytt
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=113281105

    Path to the Sky
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93309647

Very early in development, but still looks cool.

Paranautical Activity: A mad little mix between Isaac, Quake and a John Carpenter Lego set. RPS did a thing, but nobody bought it and it's a little out of date in that you can now choose which weapon you start with now (and the shotgun is the obviously superior option.) The soundtrack is all right, as far as these things go, but waned on me quickly after a couple hours-long sessions. One of the only games since, shit, Prey? to really "get" bunny-hopping.

Oh, and at $6 it's a steal, so you should get it regardless of what the herd dictates.

Out of the Park Baseball 13: If there's a deeper, more customizable sports management sim ever made I'd like to see it. It's basically the Dwarf Fortress of this genre although luckily with a much better UI than DF. I think even people who don't know much about baseball could find something to like in this series if they like deep and crazily ambitious PC games made by very small teams.

Speaking of of crazy-depth I also second Dominions 3

    Runestorm's other game, Rooks Keep.

All that's missing from that game is a decent size player-base and people capable of hosting games online.

Here's another Satellite Reign video, this one is seriously good (reflections, rain, puddles, lighting), and I'm amazed they didn't release this before now. Still time to pledge (and vote on Steam) and make destructible landscape possible! http://support.satellitereign.com

I recommend Aaru's Awakening, great looking 2D action platormer with teleporting mechanics.

Together with Shelter, an action adventure where you play a mother badger and have to traverse the lands while keeping your cubs alive.

    Risk of Rain
Class-based 2D adventure game with retro presentation. Giant Bomb have done a look at it. I think it looks pretty neat.
Powered by Steam. And biscuits. I'm also a twit and dabble in creative writing.
