Games with the best plot twists

After reading a few old game reviews for precisely no discernible reason, I noticed that many reviews for story-heavy games mention a plot twist you'd see coming miles away, or would shock no one who's read/watched XYZ, or what have you. With that in mind, which games have absolutely divine plot twists that everyone should experience?

Errrrr you aren't. What they did there it's a narrative figure, but not a twist.

Metal Gear Solid 2, obviously. It's basically a playable plot twist fractal.

The Witcher 2, mostly. BioShock, too. Pretty much every BioShock game, including System Shock. Anchorhead is also amazing in almost every way, despite it being an interactive fiction.

...and I thought LA Noire was pretty damn good, too. *hides*

one that I didnt see coming: Borderlands 2.

also, bioshock 2 was better despite 1 having a good twist.
    - Tom De Roeck.

    verse publications

"Quantacat's name is still recognised even if he watches on with detached eyes like Peter Molyneux over a cube in 3D space, staring at it with tears in his eyes, softly whispering... Someday they'll get it."

"It's frankly embarrassing. The mods on here are woeful."

"I wrinkled my nose at QC being a mod."

"At least he has some personality."

Bioshock for me too. I know some felt it followed the standard 'shock' template, but it had been long enough since I'd played those that I didn't remember.. and it was very well done.

KotOR1 - It seems fashionable to bash it because it's not as good as KotOR2, but I thought the plot twist was very cleverly set up. Plus i hated the mess that was KotOR2 with a passion, so i didn't care about the plot of that at all.

I don't think these officially count as plot twists, but:
Jedi Knight - when you get plunged into the dark side path.
Mysteries of the Sith - the ending.
Sands of Time - the circular set up with the beginning.

I'm sure I've played a lot of games with plot twists, but I can't actually come up with any more than that. Memory must be going...

YOu are just sayign that to wind me up! *grumpy face*

I forgot Thief. It might not have been totally unpredictable, but it was pretty cool anyway.

PS/ Shouldn't this thread be in the regular gaming forum that most people actually go to?
