I will wait for the reviews on that one before committing to it. Also, in the trailer I noticed a distinct lack of restraint in the use of firepower. What i like in SWAT 4 is that you have to think before shooting. A twitchy finger will lead to bad score or even failure.

Yes, I agree, this is definitely a merit of SWAT 4.

From what I have seen so far, Takedown seems to lack options, such as non-lethal weapons, gadgets and utility grenades such as flashbangs. But perhaps that is just because the footage is from early versions. Time will tell.

Takedown used to be called something like 'Crowdsourced Tactical Shooter' so I would imagine they're all about the shooting, not the shouting. It's being touted as the spiritual successor to Rainbow Six 3 which didn't have much in the way of non-lethal tactics, though if I remember rightly you could restrain people who surrendered, but were you penalised for shooting them anyway? But yeah, I played the alpha (I Kickstarted it) and the loadouts were limited to lethal weapons and I haven't been on the forums long enough to be able to tell whether non-lethal stuff is planned. Not long until we find out, though. I have a preorder so I'm getting it regardless.

Big Swat 4 map pack (although not as big as this one)
Varying quality throughout, but some are really good.

It would be awesome if you guys did a weekend evening game sometime! In my experience there aren't enough American in the forums (or at least the organized gaming ones) to make American gaming nights work, but I really want to get in on the Swat 4 action :)

How about this weekend? I've missed the last few and would love to get back to it. I could do Sunday evening.

The Stetchkov Syndicate is what you're after. It's included in the "Gold Edition", which can be ordered from Amazon. :)

Just directly into the directory where the expansion is installed. The folders correspond to already existing ones there.

Windows told me that it would amount to 111GB. Maybe I should just try to unpack it anyway...

Who's on for tactical shenaningans tonight? I may be online and would be up for some SWAT 4 if it's happening. Though I haven't yet downloaded the map pack. If it's just 1 GB I should be able to get that this evening.

But, seriously though, I don't know what's up with that map pack...

I'll be performing the goodnight ceremony tonight, but I might join in afterwards, maybe around nine (EU) or so.

Same. Do a few of us wanna club together and get Takedown? they have a 4 pack that could save us all a bit of money. Might be worth trying it out. Ok there's no non lethal but it might be fun, certainly it might be refreshing
