Wolfenstein QuakeCon 2013 demo (no weapon limit, medkits, Bubi, destruction etc.)

17 minutes. The player is sort of rubbish, perhaps because he's using a controller. He takes cover behind a car for like two minutes...

Confirmed features, most being shown in the video:

    - medkits
    - lean, including a prone-like stance
    - dual-wielding
    - multiple fire modes
    - multiple ammo types
    - no weapon limit
    - slide
    - armor pick-ups
    - destructible environments
    - gore
    - puzzles
    - exploration
    - artifacts and collectibles
    - one-liners
    - Germans speaking German

And here's a GT preview with cool footage.

    Two nice QuakeCon screenshots:

    Well, it was taken down.
Hopefully Zenimax will upload a direct feed version, but that would assume they're a smart company.

It's being made by MachineGames and it seems to be the studios first game. The studio was founded by former Starbreeze employees, so I guess they got some experience.
But where did he come from, this fleck of spite in an abandoned paradise?

Better than swinging a weapon around, missing by one pixel and alerting the whole enemy base.
What I'm saying is fuck Deus Ex.

Also nobody complained when Riddick had these finishers.

    I'm sure someone did. Somewhere...

I love how uncomfortable the guy in the GT video looks describing the game as an action adventure shooter... looking at the interviewer to see if he got a pass.

'Hey kids lets go on an adventure' stab stab stab, cut dudes throat.

Since we have a RPS hands-on now and the big demo is back on Youtube, I figured I should bump this.
What do you think of Bubi and Frau Engel?

I just finished Wolfestein New Order, and I am really happy.

It goes to places!, is much better than have a right to be. It touch all the cliches in the genre, but do it better than any game before.

I have made a review in Steam and I have give it 10/10. its amazing they have manage to do this considering the source material :D

Sincerely glad someone else enjoyed it. Uninstalled after about three hours with it. Found it to be the same generic corridor shooter we've been playing for literally years. Except, with nonsensical mechanics regarding health, annoying, forced stealth missions through linear corridor levels and a paucity of weapons to choose from, at least early on. Utterly drab, thoughtless, soulless and without even the slightest hint of innovation.

Honestly, its a shame this was built on the same engine as RAGE and will probably get a sequel where RAGE won't. RAGE was the far better game. More intriguing world, fun toys and gear and excellent vehicles. Sure it had its weaknesses, too, but at least it tried to do some new stuff with an old genre. More than I can say for Wolfenstein.

Theres less game in Rage, than in Fallout 3 or Borderlands.

The graphics and design was amazing, of course. But maybe is a good thing that games with much worse engine are more successful? the message is, you can sell one game based on graphics, but yo sell a serie, you need a good story.

Funny how you're bumping this thread exactly one year after I made it.

Wolfenstein disappointed me because the pacing is horrible and the story and most characters are awful.

I'd like a Rage sequel too. It was never supposed to be F3 or Memelands, but it needed just a bit more meat on its bones. Wolfenstein's universe has depth thanks to all that background writing and art and that's exactly what Rage needs. Rage is a cartoonish theme park - you only realise this the moment you enter the British punk garage - but it still needs more depth.

I think Tim Willits is a very good designer but both Doom 3 and Rage fall short of true greatness because they're just a tiny, tiny bit too streamlined.
