    A hopefully simple technical question.

    Hello good RPS Forum people!

I have a question, which may be blindingly stupid, but I'd value your opinions and answers regardless.

So then. I have an HD TV which up until now I have been happy playing PS3/360 games on*. I also have what I believe to be a decent-ish PC with and HDMI port. In my head it would be perfectly possible for me to connect the PC to the TV and enjoy wondrous PC games in the style that I have become accustomed to. Is this actually possible, or am I going to need more bits and pieces so that the PC output will display properly on the TV?

The reason I have asked instead of just trying it, is that they are currently in separate rooms, and I am a little on the lazy side, for which I apologise.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer, I look forward to being a part of the RPS community for a long time to come. Hooray!

*Yes, I know, but at least I have belatedly seen the light, right?

That's splendid, thank you very much.

To be honest I think I've got off lightly in the patronising bastard stakes. I was expecting a http://bit.ly/r2YEsy at the very least!

    Seriously though, thanks.

I was thinking of using LMGTFY but That did seem a bit too patronising

Strangely, HDMI ports on one device connects to those on another via a simple 2$ cable!

    Thread needed more patronising.

The hardest part may actually be running sound, if you want to use your TV speakers/home theater system.

So wait, that one gold looking thing goes into that similarly shaped port? Shhheeeeiiiit.

No but really, it's working splendidly. I was wondering about sound but I just plugged it in and it worked, which was nice.
