    I've given that some thought. I'm thinking it could be a variety of orange and brown things. So, given that it would be a large cake we might have different sub-cakes for different bits (head, neck, ears, body, legs, etc.). Possible flavours for inclusion in the giraffe mega cake:

    * coffee
    * marmalade
    * carrot cake
    * chocolate

    Of course, if it were going to be a purple giraffe then it should taste of purple things... um. Beetroot?

    Chocolate beetroot cake is glorious.

    See, I was thinking a ginger-y taste. Ginger loaf legs.

    Banana should be banished from all of time and space. They're not allowed in a cake.

    Bananas are okay. Just get the bio version. A local newspaper apparently ran a study on fruit and veggies, comparing bio versions to "regular" ones, and they found that bio bananas in particular actually seem to work. Barely any pesticides and stuff in the peels nor on the inside.

    This shit is bananas. In a good way.

    Unfortunately my current financial situation propably doesn't allow for international trips during this year. Have a good party over there .

    Looks like the winning date is the weekend of November 9/10 - Could someone add that to the thread title?

    What time of the day shall we do this? From Saturday lunchtime to evening, staying somewhere that night then meeting up again the following day before we all disperse?

    Could we gather some ideas of places to stay/places to play? As this doesn't clash with the PS2 birthday, I'd say we're better off looking for somewhere to do tabletop/ board games and the like, especially as my initial hunt for a LAN host/gaming arena came up with nothing.

    Shall we aim to have a venue sorted by the end of this week?

    9/10th is fine in terms of dates, but I think I take delivery of my car on the 11th, grrr! I'll see if I can speed them up, but car factories like to take their own sweet time.

    LAN venues aren't going to happen to be honest - they all crashed and burned with the economy. So, it'll be down to people who are willing to bring their rigs. If I can arrange transport, my FT03 and 27" display can come for the ride.

    There is a gaming bar in Manchester with a Lan room, and im sure there would be in London, but outside of those cities your probably out of luck. Given that the invention known as the internets allows us the play multiplayer shooting games together when we are hundreds if not thousands of miles apart i suggest we pass on bring our rigs with us. I guess some old laptops for multiplayer indie games, or early 00s titles could be cool but the lower time and energy footprint the better.
