    Cabals:The Card Game - F2P - Collectible Card Game

[Cabals:The Card Game] is a free-to-play crossplatform online card game.

    About Cabals
In Cabals: The Card Game the goal is to win either by storming the opponent's Stronghold or by dominating the game board.
Each player is armed with a unique deck of cards which they have constructed, filled with units and actions and represented by a hero.

Cabals: The Card Game re-invents the genre with a gameboard that brings a whole new tactical dimension into the game.
Optional ways to win, four Cabals with their own distinct playing styles, and different board layouts make sure that no two matches play alike.

Its true, that the full size is a quite big, but it was wished for.
on top of the page, there's link:
(Shrink size to 480x720 (reloads page!))
    Is that too large still?

Most browsers have zoom- (ctrl- / ctrl+) option, however note that shrinking the page too much will affect the quality of the graphics (especially fonts).

Cabals is a very fun game that is close to being ruined by a pish user interface.

Mechnaics of how you trigger, target and use various cards are completely opaque. Playing on my phone was an exercise in frustration as input lag meant I frequently ended up mis targeting/using cards. Playing on the computer was much better and does make me think that the game was developed on a computer first and then had the UI translated onto the phone. Neither interface feels native to either the phone or the computer, it sits uncomfortably between them.

The game itself is really good though, a very pleasing abstract board game with the kind of resource management that I like. reminds be a bit of the Collectible Tile Game Maelstrom/Vortex.

Actually, now I've worked out that everything in the game can be achieved just by tapping and that nothing actually has to be dragged playing this on a phone is a lot better. Dragging simply should not be an option for doing anythnig as it is inconsistently allowed and so leads to confusion for the user.

Thanks Cabals, those look like good changes. Especially the increase of the cost of Gas Attack and Northern Lights. Grrr, those were making a tradition of ruining my games.

This game is actually quite awesome =)
The only reason I stopped playing is because increasing numbers of cards started to have pictures of mostly-unclothed people on them (at the moment I can only remember the rushalka(?) and the lady of the lake) ... if ever there was an option to get different pictures on those few cards, I suspect I would certainly pick it up again. As it stands, I only really like playing as yellow or red against yellow or red, since they don't appear to have any such cards.

Still -- highly addicting and much recommended, aside from that issue =T

Any idea if the desktop version is moddable?

Being the only 'mass destruction' actions, their cost was too low and effect too grave especially against vril and zahir, which have zero way of protecting themselves against Gas Attack or Northern Lights.

It seems that change was successul: the use of power 1 units has grown, the destruction cards are still extremely powerful but they don't destroy the early game so strongly.

I must apologize if you truly felt that way, there's absolutely no intention to show any unnecessary flesh but putting cloths to a mermaid for example would be rather weird and the belief is that witches actually do dance naked by the bonfire.

We did however give Banshee some cloths, and made some other minor tweaks on the art so that nobody would feel offended.

But to quote our artist, who was rather heartbroken to be asked to tune them down, he said:
"They were art before, now they are porn"

    Cheers,
    Mika

Hi! I have a Motorola Defy, and I really want to play this game on my Android device. But it seems that the app is very CPU+RAM consuming, it's almost freezing the whole system everytime I use the game, and it doesn't fare well for multitasking, so there's currently no way for me to play correctly.
I love the UI design, also, but a little bigger font size (even 1px, I'm a designer, the used font is Futura =P) could be better for non-tablet devices.-
Also, my screen resolution is not completely used.
    Thanks!

PD: Please send me a PM if you need an immediate answer for any questions.

Endless wrestling with the fonts ;)

I compared Motorola Defy specs to our reference Android (ZTE Blade), Defy seems to have more cpu atleast. But cpu shouldn't really be an issue, memory more likely.
I don't see why it shouldn't run on your device atleast as well as it runs on our zte blade.

2nd update will be released within days, and we're already working on 3rd update as well as expansion and other nice things.
Until we have time to fix the Android compatibility issues, I would suggest using windows or mac standalone if you're having unbearable trouble with the Android build.

    Cheers,
    Mika

I believe you =) I know I tend to be extra particular about such things -- that's why I like it when games are moddable, but I don't think Unity is generally conducive to that. Maybe I'll find a clever solution someday :)
