Is a place where they sell weed, and is called PAPER SCISSORS ROCK , and they use the RPS font.

Yes, it is definitely not a coincidence that those two buildings look alike.

PAPER SCISSORS ROCK is in the actual pic and google street view, not from the game screens.

I've also heard that there's some sort of game you play with your hands that is named after this website.

What is this game of which you speak? It sounds very subversive.

Taking cues from reality is something I think most artist do, I think. If you have to drawn a steam train, you search in a archive for trains of the era, so your draw is more realistic and detailed.

I think the importance of RPS in these sales show possibly that Indie games are a developers & journalist phenomenon. Be prepared for a weird stament: Journalist don't make news about indie games, they release a game. Indie devs don't release a game, make news.
    This is one interpretation.

Another interpretation is that discoverability is still very bad. People have a hard time finding the good games. In absence of something better (that is not invented yet) people (both public and creators) use something like RPS.

You must have meant to post that in another thread because it makes absolutely no sense in relation to this topic.
