    Im on the server and on mumble but AFK. if anyone could tell me how the adminstuff works, Id be grateful.

    (cant seem to set up bots or maplists)

    I know there's a console command to set up bots (which I believe to be "admin addbots" followed by a number) but the other stuff is kinda out of my league.

    We should definitely set up another one and get more people involved.
    I'll try to repair or replace my microphone for the next time.

    Is there any way to add maps? The lack of Facing Worlds is rather odd, it's a default map (every newer Unreal Tournament has a version of this map, it's that popular).

    Really enjoyed that, cheers for setting it up Quanta. Top super slow rocket duelling awesomeness.

    Although it has ruined my memories of assault. I nostalgically thought of it as awesome but in the cold light of the new millennium its clear its just confusing. Still huge fun though.

    Assault probably seemed so good back in the day because it was such a new thing to have. CTF was still good fun though. We must give Domination a shot next time.

    Fun times yesterday guys, brought back some memories; been ages since I played UT properly.

    Things I learnt:


    • I kill myself more than others with the rocket launcher.
    • See also: The Flak Cannon
    • See also: The Ripper
    • Wiggly can't pilot a Redeemer missle. :P
    • Assault isn't as good as I remember.
    • CTF still stands the test of time. Great fun.
    • That last CTF map, the endless corridor, was horrible. Let's not play that one again.
    • We need to play Facing Worlds next time. Also the one with the two bridges over acid, which I just remembered.

    It was excellent, sorry to drop out so early(well we already played for 1.3 hours) and I agree on the Assault thingy, I used to love it as the most best excellent gaming thing, but its very dated. It felt like a early BFBC2 Rush prototype.

    Assault was a good idea, and there's still a lack of games that really do that sort of thing well (series of objectives in adversarial multiplayer) but... most UT99 Assault maps were kinda weak, and involved attackers just flinging themselves at a chokepoint. UT2004 did it much better, however Onslaught grabbed a lot more of the attention at the time.

    Sorry if I am in a wrong section, Im new to RPS community.
    And its only thread that I found that is related to original UT ( which is the ONE and ONLY UT for me ^_^ ).
    ...
    So I made a mistake of listening to UT soundrack. And now i have this urge to play it :)

    My question is:
    Are UT sessions still a thing?
    And if not, what it takes to organize one?

    It seems the last posts in this thread were from 2013 and I definitely don't know of any active UT sessions going on at the moment!

    However, it doesn't take much to organise any evening. I suggest that you create a fresh thread in this here forum with the specific intention of setting up a regular play session and see who else would be interested. It may be the case that some people are still interested.
