Mine-Giraffes! The Adventure!
As a lot of you will be aware me and Roranor have a small Minecraft server. I'm posting it here rather than the main community website as it is small and I don't want it to be overrun.
We have just changed to the Hexxit Modpack and would love for some more people to join us.
Hexxit is more of an adventure Modpack than the others that are centred around building, but you certainly can build things. It contains the base game (version 1.5 ish) plus a lot of additions. Me and Roranor have so far defeated pirate ships, cleaned out a battle tower and taken over an undead fort, currently I'm breeding chocobos (yes, chocobos!).
If you want in it's the same server address that was about before, but you will need to download the Technic Launcher and select the Hexxit Modpack. It will do all the work for you. If you don't know the server address message me or Roranor on here and we will give it to you and whitelist you.
See you in game!

Screw hexxit. Beyond Reality is the way to go. Way more mods. Way more fun !
Playing modded MC without some of the mods in there is a sin.
So much more complexity, it gives you the ability to build giant floating moving mining barges that strip the earth of ores that then get processed in your smoking factory to fuel your ever growing army of programmed robots to take over the world.

Thats great and all but since we're using Multiplay we can only use the modpacks that they have preinstalled and this is not one of them
does look good though, ill message support to see if it can be added

I'm really tempted to set up a server. Given my upstream speeds it should really be no bother. Any idea what's needed to run MC smoothly?

What I'd like to do at some point is chnage the server to Voltz and get a number of people into teams. We can use Voltz to make a base for each team and after a few weeks have a battle (Voltz has ICBM's Forcefields and all manner of destructive goodies) where you have to retrieve a certain block from the other teams base and bring it back to yours.
Would anyone be up for this?
Maybe an adventure map sometime?

Yes to both. Especially an adventure map.

Does this mean the old 'village' server is gone?

Roranor has it backed up both on the server and has downloaded a local copy. It's still there so can send to people, or restore it at a later date

Sounds fun. Just got whitelisted for the other RPS server but haven't had the time to check even that one out. Currently stuck writing job applications. What a fun time...(Firefall: bug shot) // (PS2: bobby is going home)

If you use the super nasty weapons you'd run the risk of destroying the wool!

Worth adding that a couple weeks back I asked Nulkigan to make us a Minecraft channel in mumble, so we can actually congregate there.
I can make channels for each team, if we were to do this team based stuff.
Also means we have the opportunity to try some adversarial stuff.
Im also totally up for adventure maps, any time!

your local hexxit files are up to date and all that right? dont think nayone else is having problems, perhaps delete the hexxit folder from the technic launcher folder and have it reinstall?
