Scandinavia - Ate parts of Russia and the baltic provinces of Germany. Got some revolutionaries to contend with, otherwise things are going fine. I reckon there are maybe two sessions left until this game is done, and the top four seems pretty secure. Of course with no ledger it's hard to be certain.

Pretty happy with what Kale did with Zapo, though I can quickly see we have a different playstyle. Everything is nice and quiet though so 0 complaints from me. I wonder though, how many Zapotecian secrets have been brought to the people's attention?

Also there's 3/4 sessions left I think. We're around the 60 year left mark and about 15 years a session.

    Netherlands:

I feel like we're pretty much at the point where the game is pretty... well, stale. There probably won't be any big player wars, a lot of people have dropped out, and most people seem to be playing the points game now. Which actually turned out to be much more boring than I expected (in other words, I put very little effort into it).

I spent most of the time last night on potentially stupid wars, in order to keep myself occupied and amused. Basic landgrabbing, really. And... I don't know, the more I think about it, the more I feel that not much is gonna happen the last few sessions. Maybe someone else will drop out, but probably not. And I doubt there will be much change in top five either. So I'm almost tempted to say we end it now, take a break, and then start a new game in a couple of weeks. But what do you all think? Is it worth to keep playing to see if something changes? Maybe some of you are competing for a specific position?

As far as I'm aware, the current top five ranking is Zapo, Nether, Ming, Scand, and Japan, in that order.

Anyway, what do people think? If we continue I will just amuse myself with creating a land bridge between my two great parts of land. So I won't mind playing to the end that much either. Just wanted to toss out the question and start a bit of discussion.

Well I don't mind calling it quits on this session since as you say it's become stale. Most things are set in stone and people aren't willing to challenge the status quo. That does mean Cei has to drum up that list of his soon I don't mind finishing either though.

I hope the next game will be a bit more dynamic and until we start it we can think of nice things to mix up stuff. Maybe we play a mini paradox campaign and start with some years of CK II and then I can convert the save to EU IV. Maybe we start up a game with a mod changing province history solely so we can play with a completely differently divided world. Without mod issues attached to it.There are many options. Though I think going out of the standard start is best for us since we aren't that cutthroat. However since we all know eachother now and as far as I know respect eachother we might be able to have a bitchy game after all.

Personally I'd like to play a CK II converted mini Norse religion campaign

I'm still quite amused that 3/5 nations in the top 5 are probably non-European. It says nothing but it's still funny I think.

I would like to finish the game, it's just 1-2 more sessions.

I left. My allies had left, and all I was doing was smacking down some comically sized revolts. That being said, I achieved my goal of restoring byzantium to its 1025 boundaries, so I am happy with that.

For the next session, we all play ck2 as vassals of the hre.

I'm okay with stopping at this point as well. I'm finding the new rebel mechanic is sapping my enjoyment out of the game completely - I annexed the Timurids a long long time ago, yet this session they managed to create a new nation? GTFO.

Too close to eachother for comfort sadly but I still like the whole start in CK II idea.

Sad times, I would be happy to finish this game. But I wasn't at the last session, perhaps it was indeed extremely boring. Dunno though, if you want to just play optimally to get lots of points, then having succeeded in getting lots of points find it boring, that is one thing. If you just want to play for fun though, surely there are things you could do to mix it up a bit, at the expense of efficient point farming? Like the oft-threatened but never seen Europe vs Asia world war. Not going to campaign to carry on the game anyway, if the consensus is to call it quits.

How are the awards going to work? We all PM Cei with our votes and he calculates the winners?

I'm fine with either (playing on or stopping here). The scores aren't exactly close so I doubt they would change much unless we went for some massive wars.

Also we should ban Calamity from taking colonizing nations.

Nah, just pair him up with a good colonizer. People really weren't colonizing very much in this game.

I tried, but Asia is in a bad location for colonising, and the random new world setup didn't help either.

That is also true, random new world screwed Asia pretty hard for colonies.

Interesting to see how similar the votes are. However, I don't get Hoc's Ayutthaya vote. Zapotec/Byzantium/Morocco, surely? I took over Ayu after the AI did OK with it, and from there kind of wasted time messing about before Westernising too late.

    Also, rip Brunei ;_;.

Given the start and circumstances, all those countries had good expansion opportunities, no direct threats, and were in a good spot for slowly building up to great nations. While Ayu had similar opportunities, you had less expansion potential (no colonization to the Americas) and couldn't get the fast westernization Zapotec and Morocco could. Despite this you managed to build a good stronghold, with really good trade income. In all honesty, I wasn't really sure what to pick for that one, but when I thought about it I felt you deserved it.
