How far from a playable state is Il2-CoD currently? It's kinda my excuse for buying a flight stick but I don't want to splurge on an unfinished game.

Its not finished completely, I would wait until the beta patch that comes out next friday and advise you from there. I get 40fps averages, but there are still a lot of bugs and stuttering.

In other news I am up for this. I would suggest we use the RPS steam chat for organising, the RPS Mumble server for communications and Hyperlobby for hosting/joining.
Hyperlobby can be a faff to set up and looks like something that got thrown up by a ZX Spectrum but it works (most of the time). You can find that download here.

P.S: I demand that we talk like the airmen from Armstrong and Miller. Isn't it.

We are playing IL2 sometime today I think, make sure you are patched to 4.101m (or the latest patch) and mods are deactivated. Most likely will be doing some coop stuff. Jump in Steam RPS group chat and message me (GraveyardJimmy) or ask about if people are up for a game.

We had a go at this yesterday, and I think we've yet to find the perfect balance in co-op missions to provide fun. Problem is, I just don't think we're good enough pilots to not die after 30 seconds of battle.
On the other hand, playing on a more laid back PVP server is much more fun.
