Hi, got Blood Bowl recently and I'm enjoying it. Some people have told me NOT to practice against the computer before playing other people. Would you all agree with that, or should I go through story mode before I ask to join this?
Getting used to all the different skills cant hurt
I went through the story mode before trying MP. It definitely helped with understanding the basics. The AI's not much like playing a human (although it's okay-ish), but it's still fun.

Just applied to the league with a fresh (well as fresh as you can get) Nurgle team. Haven't played for while and I've never tried the multiplayer - unless you count tabletop vs my brother waaaay back in the day - so I thought I'd go for a team with armour as rusty as my skills.

neon_flame, I'd say playing the AI is ok for a few games to get used to the controls and see the rules in action. After a few games, I would switch to playing people from the Challenge League or taking part in the Divisions of Death (our ongoing, tier-based League, see the link in my signature). Don't worry about running the risk of loosing, people here are very nice and helpful, so you'll learn quickly. Also you can check out some online sources for Blood Bowl knowledge, like bbtactics.com, talkfantasyfootball.org, and the playbooks and other aids at http://plasmoids.dk/bbowl/Bloodbowl.htm. Give me a shout if you want a practice match, Steam ID is the same as my name here.
