Applied a couple of new (and old) teams. One is a lizardman team which I plan to take into the open next season, so I'll probably be a bit more active in here the coming months.

Anyone want a game in about an hour? (11pm GMT)
What TV (roughly, low, mid, high) do you want to play at? I'd need to play a fresh team but would be up for it.
Looking for a game during the afternoon, low-mid TV would be best.
I *finally* decided to buy BB: Legendary Ed given the sweet recent sales. The only reason I bought it is knowing that there is a fine group of players here on my beloved RPS community. Given how old this thread seems to be, what would be the best way to get involved in friendly tournaments (of course, after I've learned the ropes in single-player)?

There is a handy FAQ that will probably never get sticked: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/foru...ead-this-first!
The long and short of it is Challenge league is good for occasional games, but can take some effort to find an opponent (this thread and steam are the best bets). The DoD is probably the best intro, it's a short (3 games, ~30 days) structured league and a good intro.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Alrighty, I'll knock on the DoD door then. Thanks!
Edit: I tried the tutorial.... blimey, almost unbearable to follow along, I'd rather gouge out my eyes with a rusty spoon. I shall look elsewhere for help.

What tutorial are you talking about exactly? If you mean the basic concepts, the rulebook really is the easiest way of learning about the basic concepts. After that, have a look at bbtactics and maybe watch a few commented replays. I found these quite ok for getting started, not too much tactical depths, the videos are quite long as well, but entertaining to watch. A bit more explanation about positioning can be found in these videos here (man, we really need a thread for good learning materials).
If you want a few introductory matches with instructions, tipps and tricks, feel free to post in here. The thread is still active and most people will gladly help you out with answering questions. Welcome to the community!
If anyone is free today for a game give me a shout

That. And thanks for the links folks. Today Heliocentric generously donated an hour+ of his life.... and hour he will never get back since I was unable to join a game after much huffing and puffing. We'll give it another shot soon now that I have been accepted into the challenge league.

Anyone up for a match tonight? I have a TV1000 lizardman team I'd like to skill up. Would need to start before 8 pm though.

Free for a game this evening if anyone wants one....
I hate vampires. Well played, Phoenix. Literally ran rings around my hopeless humans in the second half.
With the aid of the dice though - a lone vamp who seemed immune to bloodlust mounted a one man defence against a horde of humans. Once you get some tackle I won't be able to pull off some of the crazy shit I did. Thanks for the game and you deserved better than that result.
Anyone up for a challenge in the near future?
If anyone fancies a game in the next few hours give me a shout on steam
I would be up for a challenge game tonight if anyone's about.
